nothing wrong with modding a layout as long as you dont release it as all your own work as some seem to do

a simple pm to the creator saying look is it ok if i use the artwork from your layout to make a 1024 or whatever
is all that is needed and im sure they wil say back sure no problem as i have many a time

if the creator isnt around then do it anyway and just note on the release thread its based on blah blahs artwork

its just polite to ask for permission as its a bit of a pisser when someone takes your days/weeks/months work and releases the same thing but with one lamp changed
and them saying its all there work that made the layout i could name names but whats the point im here to release the occasional dx here and there not to argue

My MFME stats read as having 181 Games.. Exclude 25 that are in a back folder due to imperfections so leaves 156. Then there's the Club versions, Clones & different res layouts to exclude & odd couple with broken meters (Test mode) so roughly leaves a solid 105-110 descent layouts. Let's just call it a 100. Most of which came from M1adness, Ploggy, Pook & Tommy. Which of course I'm grateful though I did spend a great deal off time creating personalized pics so they could be displayed in Thumbnail view, Aswell as fixing the title names in the header & in the Dat & Gam files to read correctly in 'Game Manager' & yes I removed references to the layout creator & resource providers. Sorry but I know who & where the files came from.

Going through it all again with the 2Pac scene. Sourcing descent quality remixes that are untagged & clean from DJ Drops & forum references.. that are also encoded at a reasonable bit-rate & proper duration fade out. Dam do they hate me. I've shifted through countless 1000's & streamed 100 of thousands of remixes & total at present is 357 tracks exclude all the Intro's, Outro's & Interludes leaves around 325 then exclude 128Kbps left with 300.. still working it down to around 200-250 then resume building it back up & no I don't flog them on ebay. Lmao they have the same problems people flogging mixtapes on ebay

heated debate is ok once in a while,but these dildo`s have taken it to a personal level which is out of order IMO.they have no interest in FME,all they want is to bad mouth and offend as many people as possible. i know of at least one user who wont be coming back because of one of them...they are nothing but rotten apples that are spoiling a normally friendly barrel.it would be nice to see their reaction if their bluff was called and a crew went to meet them and see what they are made of- they`d probably shit bricks and run.they behave like pricks on here so just imagine what they are like in the wild.....

I have no issue if someone wants to use my old DX as a base to convert to MFME and use correct roms. I'd appreciate my logo and name removed from it though please, but by all means knock yourself out.
If it wasn't for me playing about with Harvey & Gary's DXs back in the day I'd never of learnt the tools to be still doing it today.

That's all well and good saying that, but if that was implemented when I started releasing then my first dozen layouts would've been rejected. Would I of tried harder to get them approved? Would I of stopped and not bothered? Who knows, but you can't expect someone to pick up the tools and release the Sistine chapel with their first attempt.

In a way you're correct playing about in the emu etc certainly isn't rocket science, but that's just the last 10% of a DX. The vast majority of work is prepping the art in your desired photo editing program before you even fire up the emu, and don't forget the patience need to create a classic for you to use as a blank canvas.

Anyway I reckon the Queen would quite like a Barcrest logo plastered over the east wing, I'm sure Margaret had a triple bar in her room.
