Hmmmm , thats unusual cos VLC player is the dugs bawz , and plays just about every file known to man.

Found this in another forum , try having a read through it see if there is a positive solution or other steps you could try.

Friend of mine had similar problem, but only when attempting to play on his PC. He downloaded "Anydvd" I think that's what it was called, and he's had no problems since. I don't know if it is free or costs or if there is a trial version.

If that was in response to my post....Yes I know you are. I meant that my mates DVD played fine in a DVD player but encountered the same as you with his PC.
Anyway, spoke to him on the phone, and he says there is a free trial version. I had a look and its free for 21 days if you care to try it.

Have you looked to see if the correct region is selected in the dvd/cd player settings? Long shot but worth a try. Also what game is it your trying to play? Can you not install it on the pc rather than play it from the cd/dvd drive?

This is probably not going to help, but did you make sure the disk is clean and there is also no dust etc on the actual drive itself?

There is data embedded on the disc in an attempt to prevent copying that is why Cashbox is getting the error even though he is only trying to play the disc, it is a common problem, and why software such as "Anydisc" (that I mentioned earlier) became available.
