Just a suggestion, but why don't we start a Member of the Year for FE?

We could vote in categories, say, best layout designer/creator, best helpful posts, best contributor etc, or just roll it all into one and make it just 'Best Member 20?? - votes could start in November and the winner be declared by the end of December each year.

A private poll could possibly be set up for the votes to be counted by the Admin/Mods and results announced?

As I say just a suggestion, as there has been some very useful, and as I have found out this year, kind members on this site, and a show of gratitude to all members would be nice to see. A lot of the good things people say and do on FE, and other forums, are lost by the spam and troll that some members write, and it is a shame that some very interesting posts/threads get missed because of this.

What are your views?

My vote goes to... Tommy C - For releasing consistently good layouts all year round. Rare to see quantity & quality come in hand and hand so yah peace out.

This is really just a popularity contest. Most won't care, and some that do will have their nose put out of joint because they didn't get it. Fair enough idea, but I think it should be avoided.

Yeah , i agree .. good idea in principal , but it would cause hassle , how come he's better than me..etc etc.

tbh i doubt many people care anymore i used to care what people thought of me at one time but these days i have better things to be getting on with
as my last uploads show not many people care to rate and those that do gave me 1 or a 3 out of 5 a wile ago that would have pissed me off these days its more of a "meh" thing
so to sum up it would have been a good idea 4 years ago when more fme land was a far better place

Yeah, I agree, waste of time (Ross made me laugh at someone rating 1 out of 5, what a bloody cheak LOL). FME is on the downturn TBH, it looked so good earlier in the year, but now it looks doomed, as much as I don't want it to be. It boils down to - There's just no spark anymore unfortunatley, not for me anyway. Too many members been let down by the Wizard fiasco and just lost heart and belief, now it's starting to show.

i think amber will help bring back a few people as from what ive seen/heard is going to be in it its going to be a great emulator

really? well no. there are some fantastic contributors, like wise layout makers, rom rippers (who get no fame at all..) scanners (who really deserve the most cred for the best DX stuff)



i will stick with the CRUX of the matter and say wizzy demands respect for the EMU he has blessed us with. dont be too quick to judge with what we dont have, but what we do..
POOK - for some of the best/cleanest DX games we have ever seen (should the creator of the scorpion stuff want to come forward i will praise him also)
ady - for being a postman. my mailbox is booby trapped..

sometimes we read/see things we dont agree with. thats fine - freedome of speech. the crap is actually as good as the knowledgable we read.

so, Pt01 perhaps gets a vote (joke).

True, but anyone who followed it ealier in the year had such a kick in teeth in just knocked the stuffing out of a lot of members. Wizard does dererve respect but he went down so low in my estimations for uploading "What you could have had" well it just finished me off. I even went and got pictures of MK1 Double Up Delexe (turned out someone had better pics anyway), but there was a spark emerging once again in FME, about to burst into a star, then calamatiy and FME curse happend again and we had a black hole instead LOL!!!

I just hope Amber will concentrate (maybe the next version) on older techs as that is exactley what Wizard was doing (just simpley not interested in the newer techs personally). I'm talking the really old techs circa 80's.
