Okay...

Wondered if someone could help me with this problem.
i have managed to download some roms, but the problem is they all have different file extensions

example..

8th Wonder (2 files)

wonder.chr
wonder.hex

there are also file extensions named

AU audio
LO file
HI file

Please as i am new to this fruit machine milarkie i would appreciate any help you could give.!!. :wink:

OK, you need to download a layout for your ROMs and also the correct emulator. I suggest you use one of the helpful documents on the LEFT which should make it clearer.

There is at least one layout for every ROM on the site.

I havent found these roms from your site someone posted a mass flood of them on the newsgroups funnily enough 709 of them but by the looks of them none have the layouts with them.
which to me seems rather pointless now you have explained...

i will have to look for some sites which hold the layouts for all these roms..
hopefully there will be such a site..

It is unlikely as we hold the vast majority of the layouts. As a matter of interest what are the names of some of these ROMs. I can probably tell you then what tech they are and if any layouts exist.

Adders & Ladders (Barcrest)

to name but a few.! (lol)..
if you want me to send you some of these files let me know as they are of no use to me at the moment..

Looks to me like someone has downloaded them all from www.romshare.net. You'll find layouts for most of them on the site, but then again you'll also find most of the ROMs as well.

yeah tbh i think it was a waste of time downloading just the roms but i wasnt aware there was no layouts with them.
hopefully i will build up a collection from this site now.
and start again..

no doubt you will be hearing from me again when i have a problem running some of the roms..
