Everyone on here goes on about how tight Empire machines used to be..but whenever i played them they didnt seem that bad , Money Monster , The Gambler , High Spirits and Money Spinner were the ones i used to play and always had a good run out of them.

Maybe i was just lucky and caught them at the right time..i mean not always would they play nice , but you could get a decent run off a tenner or so.

DOND on the other hand..FFS , i very stupidly lost on that big time..was playing Empire Strikes back or some shit..gave me 2 feature shots , landed on red mega feature (think its called the same)..£70 off a quid tyvm.

Machine next to it..DOND double or some crap..backing like fook from first quid , thought im onto a winner here..never gave more than £4 on the cash ladder , 5th feature up MAX and not one deal or no deal game.

£70 gone in about 15-20 mins , i felt fkin ill .. never been near one since.
Mmmmmm...Sandy ive 'ad her ye know. :)

Thought i'd share this with yas,i posted it on jackpotty the other day.Played a deal or no deal double take the other day, full from the off, deal or no deal game first boardgot a £80 mega streak after £60 in,was still gaming on the next board,so i decided to reforce it for another mega.it all went pair shaped and i walked off it £350 lighter in the space of a couple of hours. Some deals respond to a force but this thieving bastared doesn't :D Self excluded myself again now for 12 months,so no fruities for me unless i go to blackpool.

I know the feeling Tommy..i mean how fkin awful are these modern day machines , if you catch them the wrong side of a big payout then you lose all your money in about 10 mins flat.

Even Party Times etc arent that bad..even when saving up for the big streak they still throw the odd 'top box' at you and various wins on the bottom reels..aye ok you wont make a fortune but it can keep you playing.

Remember in the good ole days with the £8,£10 JPs even when they were banking for the next big payout at least you got a few boards and some wins , there was some 'entertainment value' there.

All these DONDS and all present day clones are just shit with zero 'value for money' , thank fk i dont play the machines very often anymore.

Thats it todd,i don't really moan about losing! although i did with this amount and the time it took to take it from me.Maybe it's my fault for teying to force it but ffs same repetative game play over and over.I like money to last a while and a little enjoyment from it.This is why i like to play electrocoin low techs like barx-7 magic 10 etc, these can be lethal when there on the take, but they do pay in pretty regular cycles unlike these dond machines.Wish mr'p would come and open an arcade in the northwest, there's no'were round here that has classic fruities anymore.Anyhow lesson learnt although an expensive one

im glad im only a 'casual gamer' in the pub/arcade with these £70 jp machines, i wont force anything and il be prepared to lose upto ~£10 MAX but if i get £3+ 'up' il call it a day and go get a free pint :)
i had my days of putting every penny i had into the fruits years ago, i think they call it growing up :p

Pfft, pathetic storys, EMPIRE fruit machines......... £12 in for a £1.60 board. Now thats **cking dreadful, glad the arcades replaced them will new Barcrests :D

£12 for £1.60 is hardly extreme.... Try losing £700 in a Rainbow Riches Pot of Gold, with no Leprechaun features, progessive pot features and the highest win was £15 from 3 wishing wells.

I was playing this yesterday in my local arcade and it took me 110 pound just to get the deal or no deal feature I then continued to hog it on because i had so much in it then took another 110pound to get mega streak which was 70pound it took £220 for 70quid i ended up putting £350 threw it and got £190 back :arghh: anyone else have any bad experiences with this machine or any other £70 jackpot machine?

I personally think they are a bag of shit and will stay clear of them in the furture

has anyone played those community games yet , where if one person gets the big bonus you all get it -such as rainbow party, they are just giant money banks for the owners, lost over £400 on a 70jp of those last year!!!! shite

Well since theres nothing else to play people have to go on them....or play nothing at all.

For me I have given up gambling altogether. Part of my drastic downfall was indeed the DOND machines.

I can tell countless story's of how bad these machines have had my money off me (mostly where I go to the pub with £30, buy a pint and go home with nothing). They were that bad that on 1 occasion I recall getting 4 jackpots throughout the day but still ending up £150 down.

I know of many times where I would be paid my wages. Take out the max I could for that day (£300), then lose the entire lot on DOND machines. That happened maybe 20 times and only once did I walk home with near enough my £300 I took out. Usually I would put in £200 and then get the £70jp, but then since im over £100 down would try on another DOND machine which would eat the rest of my cash.

The problem is because people do put in high amounts of cash believing its about to pay is that they often lose more than they wanted to lose. This opens the doors for chasing losses which they may try to gain at some online casino back at home. Because they are betting higher on the £70jp's they will get out of the pattern of gambling low amounts and gambling responsibly and quite possibly end up becoming someone who gambles more than they earn.

The sad thing now is pubs and everywhere are going to be filled with digital fruit machines where they can set the jackpot however they like. I can just see it now.... machines being set to £500 jp's and the local pub turning into more of a gambling den than a pub

A new pub opened in my area which is over the road from a new student block.I called in one night and they had 3 DOND's next to each other in 4 different areas of the pub. In the hour or so I was in there all the machines were being played constantly with around 5 people gathered round each machine. With the quiz machines as well it looked like an arcade!

£350 in dond low tech not a single board then 15 boards in a row left it £20 down never again. Anyone had a bad time with bullion bars i seem to catch it at the right time when i play.

Yeah they are all pretty $hit at times. The problem is the streaks are so big the losses it needs to recover are massive and it's the other players that have to suffer, It's a risk I guess like Russian roulette, hit and miss you may hit the machines 5 out of 6 will be a bullet,

I must say, i dont mind the more recent ones, (like Cops n Robbers one) that have "Deal or bust" instead of Cash or Bust, in other words you play the deal or no deal instead of getting a cash win if you get it.

They seem quite happy to give DOND (or even super or mega DOND) about every 1 in 4 times.

You're lucky then, I hate Deal or Bust, you get alot less wins. A mate of mine had it 13 or 14 times on the bounce before he got a game.
