Hi all first post after a bit of lurking
Anyway there was this fruity down redcar beach years ago must of been 1987 ish cos im sure i was still at school( could be a few years later tho) , this lad was on it and obviously knew a cheat cos he was rinsing it dry man, no idea on the name or make at all sorry but the only thing i remember is when he got a win or feature u could gamble via 3 doors that displayed on a color lcd screen up the top, a knight was hidden behind 1 and u had to select the door, this lad hit the correct door EVERY single time climbing to jackpot again and again til it was obviously empty and he left.
Anyone remember this and was the cheat common knowledge ?[align=left][align=justify]

Maygay 'Screen Play', and the feature called 'Knight Time?'
It wasn't an LCD, but was a monitor behind the glass!
I used to play that when I was 'ahem' probably between 6 and 8 in an arcade in Bridlington, and that knight feature is True Skill, but AFAIK you couldn't empty the machine from it :S
Have you any idea of how much the bloke put it? I was banned from 3 pubs for 'emptying' machines, although normally I'd have to put in about £60>£100 to get £115ish out.

Lol....I remember when I first started playing machines - about 5 or 6 years old - Thompsons arcade, Bridlington, full of old 2p machines, including some which have been resited around the town [the arcade was knocked down to build flats ]
I used to love going to Bridlington [and this may sound cruel, but I was only 5 or 6], just to play the machines... the fact that my grandparents lived there was just a bonus [it may have been mean, but I was only about 6 and didn't know any better!]
I remember one of my favourites was a bubblegum machine, something like you had to fire a rocket at something that moved past, and if you hit it, you got some bubblegum! Oh, and Tutti Fruity [I think thats what its called!] where you had 4 slots at the top, and coins would fall down, hitting fruits, and lighting them up. I don't remember if you had to light up rows or not, but it rocked!
Well, thats enough nostalgia from me, I also believed that the old 2p > 4p gamble was trueskill and would try to work out which part of the sound effect to hit the 'gamble' button on!

Yup, I can recall Tooty Fruity. I'm thinking that it was either 4 or 5 slots in a line @ the top of machine to put coins in & you had to light up a row to win with your 2p! These lit rows were lines of fruits that when you put a 2p in & it went behind a fruit pic it lit up. Full lit row =win. :willemte:
The bottom row was big win - 10p or 20p. I played it so much that I got what I called Tooty Fruity Knee! Basically RSI -Repetitive Strain Injury from keeping on bending knees up/down to pick up the winnings from the win bit @ the bottom of the machine that was really near the ground. I was a quite tall child, so was easier to bend knees & go into sort of crouch position than bend back up/down.
Was simple addictive fun.
When I stopped playing it I then went onto Video Games & got PAC-Man Thumb!! :surgeon:

There was also a club machine based on the same hardware called "Caesars Palace" (no, not the Crystal machine)

Ah yes, Ceaser's Palace. I remember playing this a few times in one of the (many) lounges in Murrayfield Stadium in 1996. I don't know why i remember that it was that machine but the video screen must be why. Anybody got any pics cos i havent laid eyes on it in 8 years now.
