GOOD NEWS EMail 1
You're already getting the UK's fastest widely available broadband, and starting this summer we'll be starting the roll-out to boost your speeds from up to 100Mb to up to 120Mb. We'll also be lowering the price of your broadband package in April to match the price of our 50Mb Broadband XXL packages.
These are nice extras we do to make you smile. We call them Virgin Media tickles, and we only give them to people we know and like - our customers.
Virgin Media offers the fastest broadband speeds in the UK*, as proven by Ofcom for three years in a row. And we're committed to keeping it this way. Which is why we're upgrading our award winning fibre optic network over the next 18 months.
As part of this upgrade, you may have seen we'll be doubling many of our customers' broadband speeds. But, because you already get our fastest broadband, we're upgrading you to up to 120Mb and giving you a discount instead.
So whether you love streaming HD movies, ruling the gaming world or downloading tunes in super quick time - you'll soon be able to do it even faster and for less.
You don't have to lift a finger.
The 120Mb upgrade kick off in the summer and will have a slightly different roll-out schedule to our other work. We'll let you know nearer the time when to expect your broadband speed boost. In the meantime, see what you can do with faster speeds at virginmedia.com/evenfaster.
We'll be in touch in a few weeks with more details about your price reduction, so there's no need to call us, or do a thing – except keep enjoying what is already the UK's fastest broadband.
Kind regards,

According to this link though Virgin Media are updating their customers broadband within the next 18 months, starting February 2012.
Virgin Media Broadband Speed Upgrades - so hopefully your Email does have a ring of truth to it.
If it is true, then I am going from 30MB up to 60MB… which will suit me just fine.

Sames...more than happy with the proposed 60mb , download a 700mb movie in what..3-5 mins ? (so a mate told me)

TBH ive never had much problems with the un-super superhub , apart from the odd fluctuation in speed it has been fairly reliable and stable , they released 2 firmware upgrades that seemed to settle it down.
Its just the wireless devices in the house that keep dropping connection from it..not constantly likes..but enough to make my lad super-pissed off when he dies on MW3 because of the lag.

yeah, they are starting this whole new 'super fast double speed' thing, they doing Lancashire area in March/April 2012, so don't have long to wait, and if we need a new router for the speeds and that, they'll be sending one out for free to be able to handle the speed, not bad, doubling up people, especially those on 100MB and going to 120MB, they'll be getting that, plus a lower rate of what they pay for it.
I personally think 'Virgin Media' is trying to outshine 'Be' who are also trying to go up to 200MB broadband in the next few years.

I'd hope it'd be faster as an old T1 is about 1.5mbps. Gotta wait a few months here for 120Mbps - as for the superhub - it's not a bad bit of kit (rebadged Netgear) but if you really hate it you can always set it to "Passthrough" mode and use your own - just make sure you have Gigabit on both ends as once 120Mbps comes out then Fast Ethernet would actually be slower than your internet connection! ...

WTF is going on with virgin media at the minute? I keep losing my TV channels and get error 3200 and 3209 my internet is sooo slow it's a joke. Last night my internet went off for a few hours and its been the same all day on and off like a bloody yo-yo. I was told that the server or something would not issue me with an IP address for some reason and it was not just me but my local area that was also affected.
