As a few of you know, I've had to become parted from my beloved Jackpoteers fruit machine. So, off I trot to eBay to list it (Bearing in mind that's where I bought it from) only for my listing to be cancelled with little explanation. I've replied back wanting to know why, when so blatantly other people sell their machines on eBay without licenses and such, but was wondering if any of you guys could give me an insight or advice with a re-listing?

Cheers :)

ebay are often canceling auctions for stupid reasons, tried to sell my dreamcast once, i happened to have a official jap pad (orange dc logo and transparent sides) Which i bought in a shop in this country.

Apparently i was infringing copyrights! whatever that was about. yet the silly sod that sold it to me is apparently getting away with it too.

You were unlucky. Either you hit a day when they decided to look at the fruit machine auctions (not very often) or your listing was most likely reported by a competing seller who wanted to try and get the price of their machine up by being the only one (this happens all the time).

To sell fully working machines you MUST have the Gaming Board licence to do so otherwise ebay can end the auction without warning (this is what happened when this first came about a while back when selling fruit machines was effectively outlawed on ebay). To get around this the machine must be permanently disabled from taking/paying money, i.e. tubes, hoppers, payout mechanism, coin mechs removed and must be on free play - or the machine can be sold broken as scrap.

Yes auctions go up every day that flout these rules, with things like "coin mech has been disabled but can be re-enabled after the auction email for more details", but ebay do not seem to pick these up.

It is most likely a competing seller reported you.

u can sell any machine as long as u state in your listing the coinmech and payout are disconnected.

there are always jeolous people out there that will report things to ebay mainly to make it more to there advantage if they are selling a machine themself's less machines better price.

i have been reported that many times for selling machines on ebay and i'm a license holder. so now i gave up selling on ebay and i advertise mine in the coinslot amuesment trade paper.

eBay cancelled my pool table sale once, for no particular reason! It didn't even accept money!

They are the biggest hunk of shit in the world, as far as being a law unto themselves is concerned.

Personally, I hate them.
