We already use captcha on the registration page. I think these are real people and not spamming bots.

ban by IP address ,also set up so peoples first 2 posts have to be verified by an admin before they can post automaticly ,or even more posts to be sure
also capcha has been cracked the old ones at least so maybe new system needed
here is some info as well spam protection

Use the mod that prevents them from adding links of any type until they've made "x" number of posts. I find that 5 or 10 posts is usually sufficient to curb that kind of stuff.

Ok folks my above post did sound a little too harsh on the matter, i didnt mean it to sound nasty in the way that it sounded. although i do have an idea that could tone down the spammers, it involves payments for FULL features of the website which includes posting on the forums and the shoutbox. New members that dont pay are limited to ONE download per day, no forum, no shoutbox or anything else the website offers and people that have made such payments over a certain period of time get a 'supporter' status, scrapping the silver/gold statuses at the same time.

Even if thats a good idea or bad idea, whatever happens i hope the best in stopping these spammers altogether!

as its been re-openend how comes it says 4 users and 200 guests.is that just an inflated number to make the website look busy i know other websites do this .Was just wondering,

Fruit emu has always had loads of traffic . I deffo wouldn' be to beef the statistics.  Type in fruit machine emulation in Google,fruit emu is at the top.
