I still need the Spiker the Biker £5 Decals, I know there was one ages ago but I think I blew that money in a bandit somewhere
If anyone has the Spiker £5 Decals [Cash Ladder + Note Stack] there is cash waiting!!

Hi Barcrest
I thought you Spiker the Biker fruit machine was broken when you left your winnings in the bank and tried to collect the next day it wasn't booting up.
What did you do to fix it as I'm interested

Well, a bloke on here [sorry I've forgotten his name, but he doesn't seem to have posted in ages?!], an FM engineer, said it sounded like the PSU. So, I ran to Boston, bought a PSU for £15, and it turned on perfectly - then the feature reel went - back to Boston and an extra £5 later and Spiker works 100% and I have a Pie Factory Reel G band
I think that getting in touch with Barcrest is a waste of time unless you are an operator, they can't sell to the public
Anyway, I'll keep my eyes peeled, and I'll message anyone on eBay who appears to be an operator

Ah !!
very good - I'm glad you got your fruitie to work again - I like Spiker the Biker actually - very entertaining, and I hope you get a decal for it soon also
My reel D (number) reel sometimes misses the opto (it seems to stick sometimes) which means I have to turn it off, let it cool down and switch it back on. Anybody ever have something like this go wrong !?
kind regards
Jason

Lol, yeah - thats why I had to replace the reel [although I only needed the opto, seemed little point when the whole reel is £5!]
I was getting the occasional 'Seek Tab Failed' error when I turned the machine on, which was - at the end - happening all the bloody time. Sometimes if you turned it off for a while, or turned it off and beat the reel up it would work, but wasn't worth the hassle.
It'll normally happen at first when you turn the machine on, will then start giving during play, and will then do it for ages
Unfortunately, although I have a perfect spare reel, the opto is knackered

Oh, that's terrific Baz
I had no idea that they were so cheap - I was quoted £25 for a badly 'photocopied' insert (for my Gold Strike) which wouldn't look all that good on my fruit machine really
I hope you have what we're looking for
cheers for your help

Ummmm, Jason. I think he was referring to reel opto tabs being £2-3 each. AFAIK Decals are quite expensive so anythink under £15 is probably unlikely. This is why i like my Club Fever, the only prize that changes is the JP, and this is indicated by 3 7-seg displays

ah yes !
I didn't read the reply - duh !! stupid me !
thanks for the error spotting (I'm due at the opticians !!!)
I could do with a reel-opto myself actually - my Money Monster keeps coming up with missed opto (I wonder if it is the opto though as the number reel keeps sticking - obviously missing the opto sensor)
cheers

Heres the reply I got from Barcrest with reference to some Spiker decals :
...perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned that I could always photoshop some decals if they no longer supported it
*bangs hand on forehead*
BarcrestBenito
Hello Ben
Spiker the Biker is still a current machine we support and as such the
Decals you need can still be ordered through your distributor or whoever you
purchased the machine from providing they have a spares account with
Barcrest.
I would also warn you that Barcrest Group still own the copywrite for these
decals and as such any copying would be considered unauthorised and a breach
of our Intellectual Property. The penalties for breaches of copywite can
lead to severe fines being imposed.

Blimey
that is interesting !
I can't remember the website I saw - d'oh !
how are you supposed to get the original decals if you don't have an account with Barcrest spares, or ask the seller of the fruit machine for spares in the first place !!

if your feature reel on the money monster machine is sticking then it will either be the plastic drum that holds the reel has become warped (which happened to a few that i have come across) this causes the opto to be offline and the tab hits the actual opto rather than going through it or it could be a faulty stepper motor on the reel itself.
i can have a look for an opto if you want but its not usually the opto if the reel is sticking.

Hi Baz
I don't think the plastic drum has warped - the opto isn't catching with the sensor -
I've had the entire reel assembly out of the machine and put it back in again. Up to now it seems fine (touch wood) so we'll see what happens !
If it occurs again, then you may be correct in the stepper motor being faulty.

Sorry to bump this post up, but :
Heres an example of the wonders of eBay :
Bloke on there selling a set of £15 JP Decals, loads of them!!
I ask seller a question, asking if he has Spiker Decals, and he says £25 inc Variable Stake key...same for Each Way Nudge, £22
Depending on how they arrive, I will post contact details, with their permission
