Hey Everyone,

I have acouple of old fruit machines lying around and wanted to get this one working in particular: Barcrest Super LineUp, I believe the MPU to be at fault as there is a fair bit of battery corrosion on the board.

I have had a brief go at re-soldering a few modest components but really need guidance to get any further.

Can anyone recommend places to look for assistance in repairs of this board?

Thanks

cB

If it was technical documents, wiring diagrams, e.t.c that you were after, have a look at the Repository :

http://resources.fruitemu.co.uk

Its a collection of machine emulation resources, including loads of pictures, manuals, that kind of thing!

I guess the places you want to try will be Public_Downloads, then Documents. Should have some MPU3 Wiring Diagrams in there. I'm not sure, but I think that Big Game and Big Shot could also be MPU3, so check out the sets of diagrams and stuff for those!

Some people that work on MPU3 machines also post here a lot, hopefully some will come forward and offer help. I won't mention names as I know some probably have enough on with their businesses, but I reckon some will be more than willing to help :)

I would also strongly recommend that you join the MPU MECCA, seems like people on there have an interest in MPU3 and other old techs. Heres the address:

http://www.fruitemu.co.uk/

One last thing - if you do need MPU3 spares, keep an eye on eBay, as they sometimes get MPU3 boards, PSUs, e.t.c, although a lot of them do get sold without being tested so make sure you check the small print!

Best of luck to you :)

PM or email me with what you've done thus far, I'll give you a hand.

Just to add as per BB's info: the majority of the MPU3 related stuff I uploaded for games like Razzle Dazzle, Big Game etc are not really of any use for troubleshooting as they're just game specific wiring diagrams.

There should be an MPU3 circuit diagram I uploaded in 2 parts a while back that deals with the MPU3 at component level.
