""As im that bit older obv i have more responsibilties , bills to pay...family to feed etc , but if you can wean yourself away from them at your age and never go back to them , well good on you
spot on todd the biggest incentive on my gambling addiction too.
""sorry cardie but somebody cannot just "quit" gambling overnight. ive been saying to myself i wont ever play machines again but always end up popping in to my local arcade with a fiver just to see what happens and the fiver always turns into a few twentys. you will always be drawn into playing the machines, even in the future when you think your past them.""
i quit five or six years ago only a few month ago i decided to test this theory that the addiction never goes away completely i went into my local arcade with £20 +my bank card i walked out with £17 i got no buzz whatsoever you know the exciting feeling when you first start playing . it was totally gone i was in a total of 5 mins at the most.what a total waste of 20+years i lost playing these horrid machines .the only vice i have these days is a bit online poker still gambling i know but its skill+luck not like these human made money banks called fruit machines.good luck cardie

So heres my advice to anyone who ever ends up like me, ive been in and out of arcades since I was 12, so its been a good six or so years and im finally waving bye bye to it after ive lost an esimated £1000s of pounds. Maybe in the £10k region, ive no idea and i WONT be looking into it!
I wish I had your kind of money when I was that young :/

You can give em up if you,ve got the will power and determination which it appears you have try not going down the streets where the arcades are or even the towns where they are as danny said there will always be the urge as with smoking/drinking habits to "put a quid" in especially if there,s 2 phones on a dond or two jackie symbols on a win line etc, but just think before you put in, am I really gonna win off of that 1 spin will it actually hold 9x,s out of 10 it won,t just turn your back on it and try to walk away, the flashing lights will always stuck you back to em they hypnotise you in that's what they,re designed to do, but don,t let em stuck you back in as I,ve said above if you,ve got the will power then you,ll crack it prove us all wrong do it for yourself not others just think what you could achive 10 yrs from now good luck
The more I do today, The less I do tomorrow.

good luck mate.... it can be done, just don't let any setbacks send you back to square one.
The fruties need you more than you need them.

went to a pub last night, too meet up with an old school friend i haven't seen in nearlly 24 years.... whilst waiting for him to turn up, looked at the fruities and the first thought that came to mind was "wonder if they will ever emulate that one", then sat nursing my pint till my mate turned up, and gave the fruties no more thought.
that "not even missing it" feeling is good isn't it lol
