This is fantastic. It's slick, smooth and works fine on my shitty laptop lol.

A monumental moment in FME. It's been along time that I've been genuinely excited with anything to do with fruit machine emulation.

Congrats Guitar and thanks to those who helped him get this far with Amber.

It's a false-negative result from Norton's SONNAR scanner, and can safely be ignored.

I have IS2012, and in that, I went to quarantine, restored the file, and set the option to omit the file from future scans, so looks like you will need to do the same.

Reason why Norton flags this, is because of the way the installer behaves, especially when it drops dll files directly to the windows folder, but I can tell you from my end, the file is safe, and was double checked via the virus total website.

I'm not getting anywhere fast :( - See attached screen shot

My crappy Norton thinks there is a something up with the installer. After I click install, it appears to do nothing, then the Norton thing comes up.

My Laptops details are quite poor, but here we go:

Dell Studio 1555
Processor Dual Core - T4200 2.00Ghz
3Gb Ram
32 bit Operating System
Vista SP2

May not help know how poor my laptop is.

Whilst I am at it Guitar, would there be any chance of a manual install option at all, so when folks end up with issues like this and to reassure them, and ideally with manual install instructions?

Run the installer and look in the temp folder, you'll see all the files that are installed. the .dll's and .ocx's go into the system32/syswow64 folder (depending32/64bit) the other stuff is purely amber component which get put in the amber folder.

The settings on the launch screen are stored in the registry, along with settings to run multiple instances without overwriting layouts. and that's it.

There may well be a .bat file in there as well but thats not used. You can of course right click it yourself to register the dll's, but the installer calls the regusters internally now, and the bat file isnt used.

I promise there is nothing nasty in the installer or info being collected. Feel free to run it through any reputable antivirus (AVG, Kaspersky, Avast)

Also sorry for the lack of nightly build there has been a hiccup in proceedings.

I hope to release the next build thursday night. I have had to change the way the alpha works as it wasnt displaying correctly. This has required all layouts to have a small update to settings. Ploggy will rerelease BB along with new layouts from Tommy C, and maybe RobinHood75, just as soon as I release the fixed emulator. Any half made layouts should still load up fine, just need to add a couple of new settings in the alpha. Info will be supplied at the relevant time. Also I have been working on the docs, 3 days about 2 hours per day has got me to page 15 so far. Its about half way thru - gulp.

I havent run off and left you all, just a bit busy at the moment. Over the next few days I need someone who is having gfx issues to do some tests for me as I cant find an intel laptop that wont load amber. Speak up please.

Not really where to request this, but is there any chance of a zip with the new files only? Save having to install it everytime.

Thanks!

Thanks for the update. Just tried to load the Club Twister ROMs, and the Layout Wizard seems to have worked without an error this time.

Sadly I don't have a damn clue what do next. Better wait for that documentation :)

Thanks for the mention Guitar. It's been a pleasure to have been included in this project. I stated from the start of fmef I had every faith in you being able to produce a fully working emulator. I know there has been some bloody tough time and lots of stress and frustration but you got their in the end and now we have a new emulator which looks to have brought the buzz back to FE land :D

I am pleased it's now been released and am looking forward to how Amber will progress over the next few months :)

Respect to you for your determination and hard work :)

New version is now available, the layout format should now be stable.

Hoppers have been fixed, and the sideart on/off option should now work.

Quick Update, Scorpion 1/2 is now up and running.

Still many loose ends to tie up and the dot matrix display to add, but its running and doing what it should be.

Great news.....now you need to make an iPad app so I can use it.... ;)

Cyberpunk:- alienated loner who lives on the edge of society in generally dystopic future where daily life is impacted by rapid technological change, an ubiquitous datasphere of computerized information, and invasive modification of the human body.....Hmmmmm
