Yeah. He's got a PCI slot.

Just checked his specs now, and his Video adapter is PCI Express™ x16. The reason I thought it might be a AGP system is because most P4's were. I've had two P4's, and they were both AGP. He should be able to get a whole range of new cards now.

Ive actually got the same machine in the garage which is how I know the chipset. However mine is knackered and wont post. If it did I would fix amber on it.

The 945G just isn't upto the job of running amber. I would say upgrade your gfx card but as you have a laptop that could be impossible (depending on model, but most are hard soldered to the mainboard on laptops)

Time for an upgrade!

Can't get it to work now getting the component error.Sad thing was it worked fine till I tried the upgrades and now can't even get the original version to install must be some setting somewhere.

I got it to work by leaving the settings in the installer as detected and to the default directory.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit the installer detected 32Bit but it seems to be working ok.

I cant afford a new laptop though so will have to wait to play with Amber another day...

has everyone tried deleting all the files where they installed and download the latest update and install that worked for me

I've installed the latest Amber update, and put the new files in the right folders, dx in the layouts, roms in the roms, but when i start amber it doesnt find any games. I sorted it before but can't do it now anyone help?.

Having just put Bootcamp onto my Mac Lion partition, I have put on my Windows 7 Professional Upgrade I have got, and using the Apple software, to run Windows 7 on the NTFS partition, I have managed to get Project Amber running - first time!

I installed as Administrator, and run the game as Administrator, otherwise, if you just launch the game, either by direct link, or the PA shortcut, although it boots up and shows the intro, when you click 'Continue', I just get the black screen - so I have loaded up as Administrator 3 times now, and I get to the Options screen, shown below, with my Mac Mini specs!
