It's an old £10.00 macgube calledd "Dungeon Master" you could be 1 of 5 characters Wizard, Barbarian, Sorceress, Elf or Grunt each had their own skills basically you moved round a board and there was a LCD screen in the middle for when you fought baddies.

I know another one - it was in 1993, and it's based on an Egyptian theme, £2.40 always exchanged to Nudge Time, which I'd always get £3.00 repeat or £6.00 from. Cleopatra's Needle, or something like that, it was what I class as a mid-tech...
And that Dungeons & Dragons one had only 4 characters as I recall - Thor, Thyra (the bird), and two others I never played as, and your health went down as you fought monsters...

That's what I was thinking, but I don't know if Atari would have allowed a fruity with the same name...was it gauntlet? (4 players videogame)
Anyway, the Gauntlet characters (Elf, Valkyrie, Warrior and Wizard) didn't have names of their own, just colours...

Now gauntlet was a monster of a game, used to hammer this in my local arcade.
I can here the noise as you spiral down the exit, and the "elf is it" sounds.
Would love to play that again.

Thanks to Mame you can.
One night I played this constantly to see if I could finish the game. If you remember you replenished your health by adding more 10ps - so as long as you have money you don't get killed.
Well I got up to about level 66 or something, after about 6 hours of constant play with no end in sight that I had to give up and go to bed.
I worked out I must have put in around £1000 pound at least in 'virtual money' - must have made atari a fortune in the 80's!
I heard that someone got to around level 200 something and still didn't finish! Though this may be an urban legend.
Does anyone actually know how many levels were written into this game? (Still brilliant and fun though!)

No probs, attached... 8) These are for MAME32 v0.82 - the latest version I've got, I don't know if any later versions require updated ROMs so best use 0.82...can someone send me the ROMS...
BTW, I put this on the site in case anyone else wants to get mid-80's nostalgic...
