After being an active player of Visual PinMame for years now, I wanted to discover fruit machine emulation. I got games running, so I'm not that much of a beginner. However, I would like to make a local database listing all the emulated fruit machines in the different emulators. To do so I need to make a good distinction between the folders. Therefore I need an answer on the following questions:

- Does there already exist a front-end which is able to list the emulated fruit machines in the different emulators?
- Which version of MFME are backward compatible with each other? In other words, is the distinction between 1.1, 2.0, 2.1 and 9.x necessary when you've version 10.1a?
- Gives this website a complete overview of the emulated fruit machines? Or is there another website providing fruit machines not available here.

Thanks in advance :)

Unfortunately there is not an Emulator that plays all the fruities, if there was the rest would be redundant and unnecessary. There are some that will play in say, both MFME 2.0 or MFME 9.x, but I believe it's best to use the game in the Emulator it was originally designed to be played in, unless you need to resize then try MFME3.2.
The quickest way to find what plays in what is to open the sub menu in DOWNLOADS at the top of the page and select an Emulator.
you will then be presented with a numerical and alphabetical list of all the machines that have been created for that Emulator.

It is probably fair to say that 3.2 and 10.1a play about 95% of the available games between them, but 10.1a will play most if not all 3.2 games, but doesn't provide the resize functionality that 3.2 does, so if you have a max screen smaller than 1600 then 10.1a won't display the whole of the machine.

Thank you for the answers, I'll start by using 10.1 and start tracking down the machines that really don't work in this version. The question about the frontend has been answered on the shoutbox now. Only one question left: Gives this website a complete overview of the emulated fruit machines? I already found out that www.fruitemu.co.uk and www.dxcellent.com have machines not available here. With these three sites, will I have a complete overview? If not, which sites am I missing?

There is also http://www.dadsfme.co.uk/ but most of the machines on there get released here. Dad will post a link to his releases on here so there are a lot of dads releases on his site that are not in the downloads section on here. Hope that helps

You may find this topic over at Dads gives you a bit of a head start - at least from the beginnings of FME through to January of this year.
Mort and / or Geddy may have an update since then that has not been posted yet.

They didn't used to as Empire's weren't allowed to be hosted here.

Ok, I'll first have to make an account there. It's good to get so much help with cross-site information being provided :)
