I'm now driving a Vauxhall Astra Estate, 1.7 DTI (75BHP).
I must say this is by far the most economical car I have drove, around town it is returning 48MPG and on the motorway cruising around 65MPH is returning 71MPG and combining about 60 MPG.
I had to sell my old beloved Vauxhall Omega 3.0 V6 as this was killing me, returning 17MPG around town and about 30MPG on the motorway.
Bring back cheap fuel!!!!!!
Noticed a sticker on the back of bus before, a new Fiat 500 returning up to 65MPG, my Astra does better than that.
The Astra ECO4 adds an extra 10MPG on to fuel consumption, imagen that!
What are you creeps getting MPG wise?

I get around 30-35 MPG from my old 1.8 Focus. Not exactly great . Then again I'm thinking about getting the ST version which will sadly be worse (but quicker) !!!

I was working mine out the other night based on what I got off the last £20 fill up which was 75 mile.
Peugout 307 1.6s
Living at the bottom of a very steep hill that I have to go up doing the school run 5 days a week doesn't help.

Passat TDi 130 about 45mpg combined, about the same on the motorway
MK2 Fiesta is about 10 at absaloute best, (1800 ZVH with Twin 40 DCNFs)
My ped Aprilia SR50R (70cc) Midrace Stage6 Engine, does about 50 miles on a tank (£8) Use to get about 65 Miles on a tank before the engine digested its own rings.

Just traded in the Mazda 3 for a Seat Altea XL, which should get over 80 mpg on the motorway and in excess of 60 combined. We'll see.

Edit 1.6 diesel 105 bhp

I believe remapping can help, the astra eco4 was just a remap but apparently shite to drive as it was setup for eco only.

23.7 says the OBC.
I got rid of my Vectra sri 1.9 cdti 150 as agreed the MPG was good but got fed up with bits always going wrong - Diesels just seem to hard pushed to make great bhp and mpg to not break imo.
Went back to good old petrol, simple engine with less stresses will hopefully become the better buy.

With diesels yeah we have the technology to get excellent power figures from them, but they will never be as powerful as petrol.
Take the Nissan Nivara, 2.5 TD with nearly 180bhp, and they wonder why the engine blocks crack under the strain!
Still I prefere diesel to petrol

Companies try and squeeze too much power out and they just become un reliable!

17mpg from my Subaru, bought it before the petrol prices really went sky high. Doesn't bother me so much any more, I've just learned to accept that we're going to get shafted one way another, so might as well enjoy it whilst it happens!

Hmm well i have a Chevrolet Venture Warner Brothers 2000 edition mini-van, i get 23mpg in town and about 34mpg on the interstates (motorways). I Suppose not to bad. I have to laugh, gas is about $3.70 (£2.29) per galleon over here in the states and they are bitching about how expensive it is. I told them that when i left the UK, gas was £4.25 ($6.88) so i think it is very cheap. Although i must admit, when i moved over here in 2001 gas was 98c (61p) per galleon so i can see that they are complaining that in 10 years it has hiked up to what it is today.
