I play emulators all the time and go on the odd forum and you hear people saying oooohh dont play mazoona's, Globals are dodgy...etc etc ooohh bfms will suck your for £6 for a feature?
But what machines are good? i realise with technology its harder to make a living out of fruitys anymore beacuse they use to me more fun to play etc? are there any pros that can advise what they make most on?
at the moment im a bit of a fan of red gaming machines! genie etc...

Er ..... Yeah ..... If you're trying to make a living playing the jolly old fruities I'd start with Maygay's Italian Job. I swear these machines are set to 106% and that's a true fact. Can't go wrong. If you're going out to play a Maygay Italian Job be sure to wear trousers with big pockets.

Fag machines. They are pretty good. I can't understand why they charge 5x£1 coins for a pack of like 16 though. Not much value for money and also contributing to your bad cough.
Change machine. Now this one is better. You seem to have a 100% chance of winning back 100% of your stake. Only problem is that one suffers from the penguin walk as one tries to waddle around with so many pound coins in ones pocket. Could also contribute to one of those stinging red lines around the stomach caused by the elastic in your pants due to the weight of the coinage.
Condom machine. A teriffic idea. Some pubs still do a 2 condoms for a quid. I bet if you look closer at them though, they have holes in the end to allow ones baby batter to pass through. Those novelty ones have 'Not To Be Used As A Pregnancy Barrier' on em. Then WTF are they for? It was a good idea at first but now seems a waste. Many flavours aplenty but how comes theres not a 'cock' flavoured condom? Smells fishy to me.
Take your pick?

This is the typical school of thought that unscrupulous operators rely on, i.e. "X machine is great, Y machine is crap".
Machine type is far less important than percentage setting. I make a point of only playing machines set to 90% or greater. That means certain casinos and a very limited selection of arcades. Pubs, bookies, service stations, bingo halls, most seaside arcades etc. are all out of bounds as they cripple the gameplay with sub-par %'s.
I have to travel quite a bit to play the machines, and I wish that more local operators would offer a fair percentage, but until they do, they will not see a penny of my money.
As an example, I have a recent Barcrest (All Fired Up) set to 90% in an arcade, and also one in my local pub set to 78%. The 90% game is very fair, lots of feature offers, extra lives, good runs on the board, rewards skill and judgement frequently. Never takes more than a few quid down the back when full, before offering a streak, jackpot or other reward. The takings on this machine are excellent still, because it is CONSTANTLY played, thus both the operator and the players are happy with it.
The miserable 78% Leisure Link machine, on the other hand, makes it much more difficult to get on the board, is extremely kill-happy, throwing the player from question mark to question mark when it wants you to die, generally blocks wins rigidly and frequently takes between £50-£100 down the back to see a streak. As a result it sits in the corner of the pub, unplayed most days.

I dont no how common this fruit machine is 'Who Wants To Be A Legionaire' but we have one at work. and its very very obvious when it comes to hi or low....which it does quite a bit. eg. number 2 3 4.. will ALWAYS go lower and 9, 10 and 11 will ALWAYS go higher, so this is good for gambling for nudges + also the hidden sunny money on the board which usually spins in about 16pounds each time. + What do you all recon of the Monthy Python flying circus?? i have recently purchased one and feel abit let down.

Like RB said, any machine thats new in a pub because they come in with such a good payout %
After a few weeks the landlords get it set to rediculous then i dont play them.

I've been playing all of the emulated machines I can get since I don't have access to the real things. I've found Barcests are my favorite with a few exceptions. I like one of the Crystal machines and in reality any of the 250-1000 jackpot machines are fun because they don't get boring because you don't win the jp an absurd amount of times

I'll have the Monty Python!!! I could swap it for Spiker the Biker, or do a cash deal
I found MPFC to be a great machines, but it has to be :
a) £15 JP
25p Play
c) 78% minimum.
Forget £25JP, and forget anything less than 78%. I run my Spiker on NOKEY [80%], £15, 20p. I guess MPFC could be run on 20p, might be ok!
With regards to Legionnaire, I found that with most BFMs of that 'type', you can forget about a Hi Lo continue after 3 spins. You will be on 11, go lower, it'll freeze and think about it, and give a 12. Very similar to machines on EPOCH, i.e Phoneix Knights and Beaver Uncovered, they give Hi Lo continue and after about 3 spins [unless happy], will think about it and land you on whichever side you hadn't gambled on
I don't understand the bit in the middle of your post, are you suggesting people go lower than a 3?

dont understand this bit :? :? :?
% settings for pub machines have to be lower than arcade machines for 1 simple reason....the pub or brewery pay a rental to us operators of around 60-80 per weeks for the machine,if it was set anywhere between 82-90% the pub wouldn't be making enough money to pay the rent, vat and license for the machines.
in an arcade however the owner of the arcade buys the machines outright and dont be fooled by most arcades being on 90% or thereabout.i think you have a very generous owner of the arcade if he is putting his machines on that %.
most common% for an arcade is 84%
last point..
its not the operator that decides the % of a fruit machine in a pub,its the landlord or brewery that decides this as its their money thats inside the machine not the operators.

The only arcade in Spalding, 'New Horizon', is has 2 [yup, count 'em!] 2 Hi-Techs, Red X and Jackpoteers. Jackpoteers has one of the reels split, so theres a4 sheet with 7s on stuck to it, and some coin mech I've never seen the likes of before.
Anyway, both are on £25 30p 70%.
Well, at least he actually displays the REAL percentage

I can't really say which I prefer 'maker wise' as I don't tend to look when I play, I just play machines I like.
One thing I have noticed tho....
£5 jackpots tend to be all or nothing (maybe thats because I don't go for small wins lol)
£15 Jackpots 'used' to rule (before I played bigger.
£25 Jackpots suck, for some reason £15 JP's winning £75 made you feel better than £25 JP winning £75?
£100 and £150 Machines (like we 'had' at work), now we have EIGHT POUND ALL CASH!!! WOOOOOOOO
the £100 or £150s SUCK!!! either JP or a small £20 win.
the £250s tend to play well.
Not over keen on the £500 or £1000 tho, too little to do, not enough excitement to keep me interested.
Anyone else found this?
