Hi all, I was just wondering does anyone know on what factors are involved in triggering an online progressive? For example, is it random from the off, or does the operator set a minimum value that the jackpot has to reach before it is 'live' so to speak? It's just that I've noticed over the years that when the likes of JackpotJoy and SkyVegas increase their marketing boasting about reaching a certain milestone, its not long after the jackpot seems to be won - is this just coincidence, a result of more people playing thus increasing the likelihood of it being won, or something more along the lines of them releasing the jackpot to be achieved?

I think they are 100% random dude, i was lucky enough to win a progressive on this game...
Now when someone wins the progressive it resets back to £10000, when i won it it was on £14,500 which is pretty low..ive seen it over £100,000 before now. So yeah i believe theydo drop the progressives at random but to win you need a whole lotta luck

Yes I believe they are random its been brought up in a topic before about stakes etc jackpot party being one I know ruki on here won over 900 and I to have won a proggy on there only £130 which the pot started on £100 both being on minimum stake 30p a go. but the more you stake the more likely you could have the proggy as you,re putting more in the pot so to say. So if you,re playing 90p a go you,d be 3x,s more likely to get a prog than on 30p but in the same time you could win 3x.s more money as in the slot winnings but also lose 3x,s more money in the same time. I stick to minimum price per play unless I,ve won a bit then I crank it up a bit. but remember you can still win a jp on minimum stake

So triggering a progressive works on the same principles as a B3/s16 'random' machine? In that there's a series of numbers that have an assigned value that are achieved by a RNG? E.g:
No. Value
10001 no win
10002 no win
10003 x3 bet
10004 no win
10005 no win
10006 x10 bet
10007 no win
10008 no win
10009 Progressive JP
10010 no win
As for staking more gives you a higher chance of winning the PJ, does it just remove more of the no wins/adds extra PJ assignments?

Got my 1st progressive last night on Jackpot Party --- I was only on 60p stake on Wizard of Oz and after around 8 spins from the off
£35 from picking boxes and £65.?? for no stars, so just over £100 (give or take a few pence)
People were saying hardly any features last night - but in just over 1 hour, I saw the message to say that another 5 people took a progressive (mostly 1 star @ £100+)

You'd be happy with that Darienne
I can see why they skipped the count up music eventually - they would still be waiting now!

Just think she was sat there thinking she had won £90 then £40,000 flashes up haha you would be looking for Jeremy to pop up with his mic or the tv to flash over to Noel edmonds :s Fair play tho. I was looking for a site that played that game last week when I had a £100 punt online but couldn't find any.
