Last night i went down the local arcade to play virtua tennis 2 (yea baby) after i finally realised how crap i am at it i decided to put a couple of quid in some games.... i had about 10 different assholes come up to me and say if smack all the buttons when i get a winner it stands a better chance of holding or if i do it on a party time it will usually go up....

it seems to be the latest craze just smacking the 3 hold buttons every time you get a winner on these lo-tech machines,... its driving me bloody crazy, especially if it does give a party time or on a different game it does hold PER CHANCE then they look all smug and are like 'i told you so'...

can everyone just put down how this is the stupidest idea in the world with some generally insulting comments so i cant print a few copies off and staple it to the fore-heads of the butt suckers every time i see them do it.

The amount of both BFM and Barcrest cabs I've seen recently with the start button hanging off.....some people are unbelievably naive

Smacking buttons eh? I thought I'd heard everything.

This goes in the big bin of bullshit along with.....

Holding and pressing cancel and then holding again will affect the outcome of the next spin.

Holding down the gamble button will lead to the jackpot on a cash climb.

Keeping money in the bank will give you a better chance of winning.

Putting loads of credits into the machine before playing will give you a better chance of winning.

Switching the machine off and on will give you a better chance of winning.

Plus the rest.....

LOL....i must come clean and admit to doing this on party time myself a while back :oops: after watching some old granny playing it...after getting 3 X's pressing all hold buttons while it counted up the bank..and everytime she done it she got party time.

Now i realise it must have been pure coincidence...and have a good chuckle to myself when im playing it these days...and someone stands next to me and starts smacking them buttons as if theres no tommorow..without realising what an asshole they look 8O

Hammering the hold buttons as if to convince it to do something is almost as annoying as the people who just LEAVE the partytime to spin itself like its gonna make a difference. Especially when your on another one doing your nuts in it :wink:

i love it when they leave it to spin itself then all it gives them is 2 quid then kicks them off

even better when you straight away after sitting there wating for them to come off the top get up there and pressing the button get a couple of JP`s and whatever else in less time than it took for them to get 2 quid

One old woman was a bit mental it kept putting her up and she just stood there waiting for it to spin itself i got pissed off waiting so i started playing - she went mental at me saying that it interferes with her top game :S summat wasnt right in that ladies head.... gave me a good laugh tho

Banging the buttons does help sometimes...

I bang the hold/nudge buttons so hard until they stop working (spring comes loose). When a jackpot is there for the nudges, I claim for the jackpot and even a jackpot + 1 hold sometimes. :wink:

To fix the button the machine has to be reset and the machine has not actually paid out the percentage. :wink:

Can anyone answer if there has been ANY machine where these weird button presses DID help at all?

I am sure there was a machine from the late 80's/early 90's with Jokers on it where if you got a hold after nudge you had to hold and cancel 3 times to get 3 of the highest fruit on the reels.

Or did i dream that up? It was the machine where it seemed randomly parts of a joker would fill up after plays.

I've been known to use my lighter or pack of ciggys to hit things like stopper etc.

I've even been know to use my whole arm to lean across the whole machine on king kebab with the follow me feature. Some dude thought i was having a fit as i suddenly went from standing and playing to laying across the machine.

I was soon barred because the dude watching was in fact a member of staff who was sharking the machine at the time.

What a gimp. and later i returned as i know the manager and i find him leaning across the machine looking for some button or something on the left that makes you win... noob'd indeed
