Hey all.
Recently rebuilt a barcrest gimme gimme gimme but I am without a manual.
I have a refill key and can access long term, short term and alarm errors.
However I cannot access the volume etc.
I have had to rewire to bottom door switch and have matched this up to another unit I have and it now reads door open etc.
I open the door and the screen reads door open but when I turn the refill key there is no flashing start button to access the volume etc like on other barcrest genesis2 cab models.
Also how do you access the light test etc?
I thought on this model you should be able to test the bulbs and get "hey check it out"?
I am still fairly/very new to fixing fruit machines and I am learning purely from what I have read on the site.
Thanks

You can change the volume with the door closed on these, put refill key in then turn and hold number 1 hold or number two can't remember, lamp test you press the test switch on the mpu5 and the other one below the reels it's normally located.

Right,
Nothing on any of my barcrest or vivid genesis2 cabs that are identical to the GGG barcrest cab.
On my el-bandido to access volume I have to open the bottom door and let the test run.
Then turn the key and start button flashes.
Press start and then I can access the volume and past payouts etc.
Same on doctors/nurses too.
Just this GGG, it is identical inside and all other functions are the same but will not flash the start button when following the same sequence.
It states door open 78 when I open the cash door, I turn the key and it shows the hopper balance as per the others but will not flash the start key to enter the menu's.
I cannot find a genesis 2 manual anywhere.
I know that the earlier cab's (gen1) did allow volume etc to be altered with just the key but the later (gen2) needed the cash door open.
Again all learnt from this site.
Is there a fault I can look for?
I have changed the door switch from another machine and still get the same issue.
I cannot fin any other way to access those functions.
On another note I cannot access the main tests either.
Gen 1 was open both doors and wait for the startup cycle, then turn key and press the test button. Test1 would show and then you can check coin payouts etc.
These gen2 systems must need something different as this does not work and I cannot find the hopper tests on either system.
I bought a generic barcrest manual (ebay) and it didn't help at all.
I am happy to send beer tokens for a manual that will cover these machines.
Thanks

They're not the original poster. They're someone else saying thanks for the information which they've discovered in an old thread.
