Fcuk knows what other people are using but i've had broadband for a few months now and am totally used to it. I'm on holiday in Newcastle at the mo and staying at my cousins house, where she only has dial-up. I can't believe how long it takes for the home page to load up, as well as log in as i'm on a different computer. I know people still cry about broadband but when you compare it to dial-up, there really is nothing to shout about. :)

576kbit is adequate for downloading 2x 4.4gb DVDRs, and plenty of MP3s per week. For the price [compared to dial up - IF you get it from a good supplier but unlimited for less than £25] than theres no reason not to get it :D

Don't forget that on BT Broadband 512kbit Basic [£19.99 a month?], you couldn't even download A QUARTER of a DVD before your bandwidth for the month was up [you get 1gb ber month, I download at least 2gb per day :D]

Where do you guys normally download good quality movies from?

It is probably better to use PM, as I dont want to break any board rules.

Most places can download loads of stuff quickly... helps if you offer something too.

Just offer some of what you have (EG SERVE) and you don't get queue problems, my mate was in position 48 of 160 last week, estimated time til download 4 1/2 days :(

He now serves and is in the top 3 people to download most of the time
(Queue jumping is annoying but fun hehe)

Emule seems a slightly faster P2P than BT for me.......(less congested)

Note to Mods/Admins - if this is turning into a Warez type thread, feel free to abyss it :)

Don't pay for anything called SUPRNOVA TORRENTS/SUPERNOVA - the proper one is easy to spot as it doesn't ask for any payments :)

Oh, and while BitTorrent may seem congested, the way the download and upload process works is stunning, yet simple!

I share a file, and someone decides to download. The subsequent downloader then downloads the start of that file from both myself and the subsequent downloader, who hasn't even finished downloading. For sharing a large file without a huge upstream bandwidth commitment from the original supplier, it CAN'T be beaten. I have to agree though, I rarely get more than 30kb/s on a large DVDR download, while on DC or KR I often get say 40>67kb/s.

Oh, and did I forget to mention that AFAIK all BitTorrent clients are NOT Spyware/Adware supported? No nasty popup-adding software is installed aswell, unlike stuff like Flashget, KaZaA, Grokster, e.t.c
