As for my post above sw_drm.dll - it looks like it's a key component of Windows, so lord knows what's going on there (Should probably try this on Windows XP).

Will have a look on my original hard drive tonight , I have tried it on xp,win7 and windows 2000 which is what it was working on with the original machine

When I tried it, it was looking for a folder called UI, now presumably that's on the path somewhere (the standard GMInterface starts out looking in Apps, so it may be on the same level).

The problem is, if it doesn't find it there, it starts looking at System32, and I know there's an swdrm (no underscore) there, and I hope it's not the same file, 'cause that would be nasty in terms of having a regular PC coexist.

Elcondor:

there is a folder called UI in directory.
GMshell\Apps\Attractplayer\UI
inside the ui folder there are 3 more folders called images, leds, scripts there are 2 files called - gm_uidef.dtd and skin.xml

there is no dll anywhere on the original hard drive with that name you are looking for?

Right, so it's looking for the windows one then - bear with me, this might take a while to get to the bottom of.

I do, but without the '_' - perhaps it's a different file?

Probably some dumb error handler thing - it's a bit difficult to tell sometime with Procmon.

I'll try it in XP and see what happens.

I downloaded the 2 games you mentioned and I get the same result when I try to run them. It can't be a coincidence that both are Mazooma... are the others, that you say do the same, also Mazooma?

Yeah Jim they are. It must be something to do with mazooma programming but don't know what. There must be specific stuff on original itboxes for their games that they look for.

Rename/delete the lgawpcom dll file, the error messages are coming from there(can see them in xvi32) & the game doesn't seem too bothered if it doesn't load it. Bigmatch still crashes though later on.

I've no idea what game "Right on Time" is supposed to be, but unzipped it only reads 264kb. Most other games read well into the Mbs, so maybe some files have got lost along the way.
