Ok so i know u guys have all done a best and worst fruite lots of times..heres my view!.. ive been gambling since i was about 12 hehe and still do! I think for me the best fruit machines for making a decent profit and knowing when to leave were when the likes of battle axe, revolution, legionairre, arabian knights, phycho cash beast and other machine like this made what 3/4 years ago now?, they are still in my fav arcade and i rarely lose..(too much) on them because they are normally quite fair and easy to predict if they are paying, the new machines even by barcrest are not crap...the clones after clones such as "fireball"..an awfuk clone of revolution (although battle axe and golden dragon were good clones because they very rarely stitched you on a 2 or 11"), or big cheese/top dog which always rape you for about 80 pounds before paying a jp. The only newey decent £25 that i touch are redhotfever...i find this machine very fair and when going for the jp £50 is the most ive had to fork out, the red hot streak normally goes £35..once i managed a sneaky £45 on . Holy grail is another half decent game..always seems to pay when dropping and is pretty easy to work out whether its gonan drop a jp. Kingknockout now this game is annoying, can play very well but can also play well and still take loads before dropping. The worst game around is italian job and italian job 2, everyone knows it..both arcades in my town have it and ive seen people put thru 150-200 squid without getting a jp..discgraceful!!! So to sum up here's the machines ill name and shame
Machines To Name- Battle Axe/Rev/G.Dragon, Pharoes Gold/Legionairre, Phycho Cash Beast, Holy Grail, Red Hot Fever, Cash Bang Wallap (Very Nice When the repeats kick in), Monopoly 60, Ceasers Palace/Hi Karate, Austin Powers, Lotta Luck, Spice Is Right, Snakes & Ladders, Give Us A Break, Popeye!
Machines To Shame: Italian Job 1+2, Big Cheese/Top Dog, Fireball, Spin On It, Ohh Ahh Dracula, Cash Attack, & Anything Mazooma/Extreme because they are just crud. Ok im off to bed, too tired nite all

Damn you PG, putting RG machines in the Minging column!!
BEST - ALL Red Gaming Hi-lo based [except Quake], Monty Python and clones, Cash Run [I like card fans!], Spiker the Biker [mine, 80% £15/20p], Quite liked the BFMs from the Diamond Mine era too, seemed to constantly go red in the pubs I played them in . I did like Vamp it up and Hot Stuff as well, easy to tell when they are ready and the don't save up £95 to pay out 1 JP. BFM Monopoly wasn't too bad, very 'Mazoomaish' gameplay though, too many boards blocked at £2/£3.
WORST - BFM Lord of the Rings, BFM Jackpot Junction + Clones [inc Mazooma Count Yer Cash] Mazooma Stir Crazy, BFM Crazy Fruits [always seems to block at 30p for me, far too popular, and I never got round to trying the £300 bank emptier ], Barcrest Big Cheese/Top Dog/High Flyer/Hot Rocks/Super Star, all of which are f**king awful.

Not that my opinion means anything but I really like your post Nick.
As a new member you are using the forum in a totally constructive way and there has been thought put into your points.
Makes a nice change to some of the other things people put in their first few posts or even more!!-but I won't bother writing what they usually consists of.
Welcome from all of the regular posters.

Yup, PG didn't have to rant and I didn't have to refer to anyone as a F*****RD, so thats a good start
I like these threads, plenty for people to argue about

Ok,
even though i'm 17 i've been gambling for a good decade or so now so will have to base my opinions on the £5JP machines.
Good:
Any JPM in the Rollercoaster/kung fu/caesars palace era. But those machines probably the pick of the bunch Barcrests of this era also deserve a mention too.
Psycho Cash beast - One of the only modern machines where you actually feel some degree of skill in what you're doing, didnt include Fort boyard/big brother as i prefered the fact you could steal a quick JP from zone 4 and to the best of my knowledge you can't do that on the others.
Impulse. Great graphics, and i liked the gameplay too, mentions go out to Spin on it, Wipeout, and fortune and glory, which deserves a mention as i own one . Shame barcrest now own maygay/impulse now :-(
Crazy fruits/pac man. *ducks* now i know that's really not a wise choice as now any intelligence you credited me with is probably long gone, but for pure playability alone they deserve to be there.
Bad:
Any of the newer barcrests. Who wants to play a machine where it costs £5 to get a board when a JP is £5, probably more playable on £25, i have fond memories of Gimme Gimme Gimme whilst on holiday at center parks, that was always an entertaining game to play.
Championship soccer. Biggest pile of $&%# ever. complete farce of a machine, no playability whatsoever, BWB really made a great job of ruining this.
Modern bellfruit/barcrest machines, and unfortunately as these guys now control almost the whole fruit machine industry, it's not looking good for the AWP industry, i remember a £25 jack the kipper being a total twat, but i remember big cheese not being much better.
Marathon of a first post lol.
Cheers
Drpepper.

My fave fruit machines are :
Rollercoaster, Snakes and Ladders, Dr Who, Big Shot, Smash and Grab. All from many years ago cos you didn't have to put too much in them before they paid out. Just to show i'm not stuck in a time warp i quite liked/like Temple of Treasure, Money Mad Martians, Spice Is Right and All Fired Up. I thought these seem to be the most playable recently
And the worst:
Battle Axe(and clones), Big Cheese(and clones), any low tech like Bar X, Partytime, Italian Job(and clones), LOTR, oh and anything with beavers on it, cos there seem to be a few beaver machines in pubs round here recently, which are about as playable as eating worms :-( . There are a few bad ones from years ago, but i can't remember them cos of old age!!

Top Bombing machines -
Rich Geezer - peace of piss to win at (no-one else agrees). Get slow bonus, take extra life, get slow bonus, take rich geezer, 25 nuggets in your pocket. Always easy to see when its not playing well
Beaver Las Vegas - quality action, only prob was that it often dicked you when in the middle board and close to jp
Pot of Gold - Most obvious machine ever to know when its happy
Supercharged - Required a fair degree of skill, so often ready to pay after removing amateur players of money
Kieron Dyer-Bolical machines
Big Cheese - Is this the type of cheese you get on your knob? cos it plays like a total c***. Can't remember ever winning more than 3 quid off it. Features are absolutley shocking. Tutti fruity - what a pile of Frank $&%#!
Italian Job - You know it will kill you going higher than a 2 or lower than a 11.... but you still have to do it to prove yourself right!
Hurricane - You get on the board once every £5, you either collect a fiver to survive certain death, or you die on an eleven, great fun!
