Hi all!,im a bit of a newbie!,but Im having trouble getting my nv4 working with a maygay epoch, plugged it in to the loom what was already in the machine, the bigger connector on the nv4, to the note acepter socket on the hopper board, getting 2 and 3 lights flashing, but machine does not know its there?, so ive found out that there is another loom, what connects to the mpu board, instead, a rs232 serial interface cable?, has anyone got one?or knows where i could get one from?, also could someone let me know, that when i have the cable do i still need to connect the other cable to the hopper board as well?, Thanks gonzo

I had this problem which barcrest and bell fruit machines and it turned out to be a dip switch. On the epoch board are 2 sets, try them... you should only need to find one switch so do one at a time from reset, or switched off

Dip switch No.8 should turn the notey on and off.....
you do not need to play with the RS232 port.

Throw it out the window......
The machine that is, keep the note acceptor

A bit to the extreme, but turn ALL DIP SWITCHES ON... at least then you'll know if it is the DIP switch or not.. PS there are 2 'number 8's'...
The switches will only affect the machine in play in some what, so if whether or not its the switches, you can simply turn them all off again.
If it finds it, the find which switch it was, if it doesn't find it, then its not the dip switch.....

Thats one way thunderstorm!!! Right! tried all dip switches up and still no different! Im gonna get another working mpu board, and then try again, as the board i have,it says in the manual, that the LEDs 3,4 and 5 should light up, to show that the voltages are present,But number five does not light up!, and LED 6 lights up, when also it says in the manual, that LED 6 is not required for operation of the mpu board in this machine? lol! Ill keep u posted what happens! or if someones knows whats up with it! cheers!

There should be 5 lid led's on the MPU (one of them pulsing), if you have less lit, then a new MPU is in order, although, also check the PSU, to make sure all leds are lit there

Hello again, Ive replaced the epoch mpu board, and we are getting somewhere! now with dil switch 8 up.it knows it there and the hopper level has changed to £250, tricked the machine into thinking its full, and stuck a tenner in...... but it throws it back out again! tried a couple of fivers, and the same! Im thinking in having a go at teaching the note accepter, not an easy job, but here goes!!!
