Here's my take on an old favourite of mine boulderdash by barcrest

When you load it up it shows the error of wrong sounds just press the spacebar/start button and i will be ok

I have found this works best in MFME 9.4

Many thanks to the playtesters jamesy4 and thunderstorm

Also a big thanks to the rom provider and flyer provider.

Many thanks for the layout Samson81 :)

One thing does stand out to me - for my eyes there's a bit too much contrast on the 'lit' lamp images. For example, the cash ladder, once lit the values seem to only comprise of bright red and bright yellow, with no graduation between colours. I'm not sure if it's your way of lamping, or if it's due to changes that have been made to the background art. Do you change the contrast while lamping? If so, be aware that when you increase contrast, you also reduce detail :)

Aside from that, it's a perfectly playable layout, like Tommy says there's no jumping lamps and it certainly seems to function as intended, so that's good and I've enjoyed playing it :)

[edit - not having a dig, please don't be offended - just offering a little advice. If you want someone to check your art at any point, let me know and I'll gladly advise on a different monitor!]

I understand fully what you are saying Bencrest, And thinking about it when i did the layout first i had no side art but then i used a different background i had made and added the sideart to that which im sure the contrast had been changed on that.

I never take offence from others when things are pointed out on my layouts i take it as positive feedback to put into use on my next layouts, So thank you for the advice on that and to everyone that leave positive or even negative feedback but at the same time no matter how many people you get to playtest a emu for you others will always have a difference.

As im still new to this ( 5 layouts now i think ? ) all the comments left on my releases im happy for and i look forwaord to forthcoming feedback on my future releases :)

Given you've only done five layouts, you are doing really well! We all have to start somewhere, and you'll pick up little bits and bobs the more you work on - don't be afraid to ask an existing designer for advice if you think you can make improvements. We are all here (hopefully) because of a love of these machines, and desire to keep them running on PC even through the last of the real machines have probably been thrown into skips! :(

You clearly have the right attitude for it, and although I'm incredibly rusty (and my layouts were pretty crap!), I'd be more than willing to offer advice if you are ever unsure how things look, or need someone to test.

Cheers!

great release Samson !

just noticed however when I got three melons on the winline, it gave me the greenbar win i.e., GBP3.00 instead of GBP6.00 - not sure if you've got the wrong symbols on the reels :)

great job !

It looks like the same base art was used as DAD's version of Boulderdash. His also had that small problem, as well as the "Extra Life" lamp saying "Club".
