Fruit Machines have lost me a good friend. We had a bet (£100). That if either of us put any money (even if it is 5p) into a fruit machine we would owe the other £100.

I caught him out yesterday and he went back on his bet, he said that he only did it to get ME off the machines, but I guarrantee you that iff he caught me on the machines he would demand the money there and then.

The moral of this story, never bet with gamblaholics.

Then again Les Friendship is strong too mate..........Really let a habit get in the way?

I think a fair few of us 'regular' players have said that, and i'm sure 95% hasn't stuck to their word.

Thing is if you diss you buddy now, he will think ahh sod it I may as well carry on now.....yet give a second chance and who knows that may really do the trick.........Either way he at least owes you a beer.

Makes me very glad that I'm only into fruit machines for fun.
If I lose £3 or £4 in the amusements on holiday I'm pissed off and that's the only time I play them (don't think I've ever played them in the pub).

The only addict I knew was many years ago a mate of mine used to put almost all his wages in a machine in a local cafe every week on payday, and no-one could talk him out of it.
Don't know if he still does it, haven't seen him for years.

Reading all your posts on the forums the last 6 months has opened my eyes as to how big the problem really is.

And to think they want to put Casinos in most major towns! 8O

That doesn't sound like a good friend, that sounds like a t**t. OK, you may well get on well with them, but a good friend wouldn't have tricked you over what is such an important issue.

Oh, he would have probably had the s**t kicked out of you had he have caught you, and you refused to pay the £100.

Better off without friends like that :D
