......any thoughts about this (kind of) new thing......... good or bad,..... as for me personally,.... i dont like the idea,... id rather have 140 pound coins out rather than notes,....... and it kind of does away with the idea that "when u put a pound coin in the machine,... if u hear it drop to the bottom the machine has been raped"............

I "GOTW'd" a DOND Cops'n'Robbers for nearly £200 once (was on new years eve, so came in very handy too) and pressed collect, to see £10 disappear and no coins, was like "Aaargh please don't break down on me, and not pay out" till I noticed the tenner hanging out the note validator, it paid out down to a tenner in notes then the last tenner in coins, I quite liked it.

.........also if the note acceptor is on its way out,... it could spell very bad news!!!

I don't play the fruit machines now, but I certainly wouldn't like to play with a payout in notes.... I used to love to hear the sound of the £1 coins banking when the bandit was full, and being paid out in notes would spoil it for me... so no, I wouldn't like to play the newer fruit machines now.

I love em, far too many landlords are still stuck in the 80's, you get a £140 which is fairly common on some machines, and try and collect out that many coins without raising a few eyebrows. Get half of it in notes and nobodys any the wiser how much you actually have taken out.
Had a few malfunction but a simple on/off switch almost always sorts it out.

The issues I would be worried about would be a note jam... not sure what the machine would do. They only give out £10 notes as far as I'm aware. Like some have you have said, if you won £70 from a full machine and pays ALL in notes, the next player will think its full... Good for the owner, not for the player. Probably the main reason of the invention!!

A lot of the £500s now been updated to pay out in notes-especialy at the services.
Much prefer the payin out system in bookies and in most bingo halls now, where you get a printed slip with ya winnings on.

It is a fairly good idea, because if you win £70/£140 yoiur going tio want to change most if not all of it back to notes.
The only problem is the note acceptors jam pretty easily, i work as a fruit machine engineer and when on "call out" probably 30/40% of all my calls are because a note acceptor has jammed up..they don't like those raggy old fivers!
