Layouts Which Are Impossible (Or Very Hard!) To Jackpot!

we've been down this path on fruit-emu a few times now. if youve read the full thread you`ll understand my reply -
grandslam is a simple brute force, but other machines require a specific way to hit the jackpot, LOTR club is a classic example, you cannot gamble it out but you have to go for the red shots feature and that will give you enough shots to hit the jackpot, this works for the 250 and 500 versions. (the system is on youtube and its the £500jp version)
taking hidden features is a pointless thing to do if you gonig for the jackpot, it just nibbles away at its percentage. bellfruits are notorious for paying well below %, they should be fined in my opinion. that said, if your ever out in a club and fine a bellfruit, just play it for a simple 30-50 win and foxtrott oscar.

The machine I am playing at the moment is Juicy Jackpots, it's currently £3333 in, £2086 out (62.4%).
Having read up on the machine it seems pretty obvious how to play it correctly, the issue I / we are having is that the wins above £50 are literally blocked at the moment, same as the first layout I mentioned (Fruit Link Club), whereby the features above Crazy Reels are blocked. There is a difference between 'not knowing how to play', and the machine making it literally impossible to win on, at least in this instance.
I've had the RAM file as low as about 15% payout, and yet the machine still wasn't going to pay a £50+ win, presumably because it's not had enough plays, so I decided to try and play it as quickly as possible to get the percentage back up to a reasonable level. It still owes a large amount of cash, but is a more natural way of playing it. It's highly unlikely that someone would have stood in front of this machine, when it was brand new and first sited, and poured £3000 in without a win.

HA! It just let me gamble to the JP!!
I reset it as soon as it said 'WELL DONE' on the gamble so it didn't clock it up
I've got two RAMs here, one I saved £140 before the it offered the JP (incase you want to play it knowing it is achievable, but don't want to win it straight away), and another one which I've labelled as JP READY where it'll just give an IM quickly (you can gamble either way on a hi-lo and win).
These are only the RAM files and they are taken from my playing of the 1280DX by Kriss, which is the same version posted at the very beginning of this thread - they may work on the 1024DX too but I haven't checked it, if they do you may need to rename these files.
If you want to keep your current RAM file, copy / rename it first!! Extract this RAM file either into your Juicy Jackpots folder (and overwrite), or extract somewhere else then copy / paste it into your folder.
To make sure it's right, press F12 once you've opened the layout, and the meters will show £3473 in for the JP READY one, and something like £3343 for the other one

i think as with all emulations we don,t play em as we would in real life like the hi-lo would your really gamble on a 6 or 7 for an extra 20p or gamble £50 on black or red but it appears all the clubbers are swines to jp but thats in there nature the higher the jackpot the more that needs to be poured in to obtain the jp as with dond,s maybe if people release emu,ed clubers they could put the jp system in writing on the release notes if there is any systems

In this case though, there was no 'system'. It's just that the machine took about 10000 plays to 'unblock' wins above £50. You are right though, it's best not to play machines in real life the way you play emulations (unless you play emulations sensibly - and I know I don't!! )
One issue is that when people release machines on here, they've typically only had a couple of hundred plays. Some machines require tens of thousands of plays (as pointed out by fruitman69 above) before they are able to pay a jackpot - under this amount of plays, you simply CAN'T win, whether you know how to play it or not.

... I thought that was actually pretty easy to JP, helped by the fact you can turn the speed up and waste a stack of spins in a reasonably short amount of time. First time I jackpotted it I accidently got a 'let em spin' on the bars while spinning plays off as quick as I could. I think it paid out within about £600 in, which was nice, pretty much took it to it's target percentage by doing so.
If you want to JP it, forget about the top feature - while I'm sure it can pay the JP, it keeps knocking the percentage back. Just play for 3 holds / let 'em spins on the bars, and play as fast a speed as you are comfortable with.
If you are anything like me, I'd say to save a RAM file every £50 or so, that way you can 'backtrack', when you finally get the JP you have an 'easy to JP' RAM file to work from, if you ever want a quick jackpot

ime pretty certain that on most machines there is a setting on the dill switches wich will stop the machine from paying the jackpot whatever u do and will compensate by paying more small wins i know this because there was a machine in my local snooker club and it payed the jackpot three times over the weekend and so the owner went mad and called the engineer out and he read the manual and set the dill switches and the machine never payed a win above £50 again

Not a problem!
Working on a new layout for it too, bear in mind I only started it earlier and have no idea how long it'll take, I'm still at the 'line removing and tidying up' stage!
Note that I'm currently on my 1050p screen, but having tried it on my 1080p TV upstairs, the buttons are visible on 1080p Oh, the actual art is a lot better than it looks here too, the JPEG compression for this screen capture makes it look awful
I've compressed the top of the cabinet, basically I'm trying to keep it accurate but also increase the amount of visible machine artwork. Obviously I'll be making the art a lot darker before actually lamping it and whatnot, but would rather work on the lines / imperfections at the original brightness, makes things easier to spot
hang on, didnt bencrest quit the scene a few years back?
I left 3 years ago, which made sense as I had a lot on my plate, a lot of things were going on back then. However, things have calmed down nicely, and after 3 years away I thought it would be nice to pop in and see what's going on, and perhaps do a few bits and bobs.

Probably my fault for showing the background art in MFME, rather than in GIMP, I only loaded it in to check perspectives, make sure the alpha display fitted, e.t.c.
I'd use Photoshop but can't be arsed paying for it, GIMP is free and I fancy seeing how I get on with it
I'm literally sat here working on it while listening to DOND on the TV, personally I can't stand it but the old dear likes it

One for the mods - noticed Kriss's 1280 dx of Juicy Jackpots is incorrectly filed into Fruit-Emu -> Downloads -> MFME 2.0/3.0 -> System 5
It should be in Fruit-Emu -> Downloads -> MFME 9.x -> Scorpion 4
Cheers
