I've been a member of this site now for 2 years. I've noticed that you have released a link to a site where people can play games and peoples scores are posted on here. A lot of people are playing the same fruit machines downloaded from this site, right?
Well just an idea could you not create a fruit machine (where people could log into) and it's Progressive. Who ever drops it ( gets the JP ) their win is then posted.
This site seems to be getting more and more agressive ( Judging by recent posts ) well by this we could all see who is the fruit - emu KING.
There are enough people who come to this site, surely there must be people out there who could help get this working on a server. Also it would make a great project for one of the teams that write the programs.
Just a site suggestion, anythings possible if you put your mind to it, right?

This is a nice idea i suppose, as a little extra, but im not sure there are many people who browse this site for long enough periods to play the machine for any great length of time. It would be a shame for somebody to put so much time and effort into coding the machine, for it to be played seriously by very few. I know that it isn't going to happen just now, but i know that if the same effort was put into an Epoch or MPU5 Emu, then a lot more people would play it, and the author would have greater self satisfaction. So while it is a nice idea, i don't think enough people would give it serious playtime for an author to go about coding the thing. I think he would feel like he was wasting his time for the benefit of a very small number of people. It would be the same people who regularly play the arcade games, i don't know if this is a high or low number, but im guessing its probably quite a low percentage of members.

Hmm...I'm not a programmer, but...
How would it work? What happens if there are say, 10 people all wanting to play the machine at the same time? Would you have to wait in a queue to play it? If not, what happens if some other player wins the JP...while you are playing. I've played online fruities before and basically you "miss" goes as other players are playing it too. So the JP could drop and you wouldn't even know it.
A better idea would be to create a "real" fruit machine where people can deposit money into fruit-emu with "real" winnings. It wouldn't have to be much, say 2p a spin and Duplu would reap the rewards and raise the necessary cash to keep this excellent site going.

I know you are half kidding on, but that would cost Duplu and Wozza more as they would have to pay for a gaming license.

Would it not be possible to have the suggested progressive fruit machine as a single download as they are now. When you start the Program it logs onto a central server that just logs the amount of credit being put into each running program on that surver. The server controls the pots (the pots being displayed and updated PROGRESSIVLY), payout %, And logs who won. I don't agree with the following " A better idea would be to create a "real" fruit machine where people can deposit money into fruit-emu with "real" winnings. It wouldn't have to be much, say 2p a spin and Duplu would reap the rewards and raise the necessary cash to keep this excellent site going". There are enough sites out there that offer this, isnt this site about enjoying the machines and pushing the emu forward? A way round this and make a small proceed to the site would be to unlock the program to anyone who makes a donation?
Guys what do i know it's an idea
"It would be the same people who regularly play the arcade games, i don't know if this is a high or low number, but im guessing its probably quite a low percentage of members" YOU MUST BE JOKING? how many members does this site have and how busy are arcades now????

I'm not too sure if you get what i meant here. Or indeed if i get you. By arcade, i meant the one on this site, i.e. the one with asteroids and all that, not the arcades in the street.

My mpu5 emulator will be able to do this using tcp/ip and if i can get it working bluetooth.
Progressive jackpots will be available and also link up for the machines like party time.
Late March is the current date i reckon it will be ready but its still undergoing a lot of testing.

I think it would be a great idea, although a nightmare to implement - even something like 1p a spin, or 1>3p [1>3 winlines] would be great. JP of say £1, payout about 50% combined across all games.
Only problem is - I bet you need one hell of a license for any kind of online gaming
How about coming up with some kind of 'virtual' money, and gambling that? Something along the lines of the old 'points' system, like a 'points' fruit machine - but maybe charging something like £1 to 'join'? That way you are not gambling the £1, rather paying £1 to enter an area where no money changes hands
Lets be honest though, as said above, any ideas along these lines would be damn hard to implement, and would undoubtably hit the bandwidth of the site

Somebody is working on an online Party Time Sim. I can't remember his name, but the latest public version is v0.7. This is very basic though. He is still working on it i believe.
