Hi. Just bought a Global Jackpots Rock'n'roll. It runs on free-play, plays on coins but cant get the hopper working. I have found a wire not connected and wondered if this needs connecting.
Any help please. Thanks Mark

Hey mate. Yes, thats all you've got to do, find the connecteor that plug plugs into, shut the door, reset the machine, and you should find the hopper starts working. If the machine comes up with "left to pay _ amount", and you have the refill key, insert it ino the slot situated under the door, and enter refill mode, and just put the amount required in pound coins through the coin insert slot, and they will come straight out again, reducing the amount to pay out, repeat until pay out complete. Alternatively, open the door again, and just put the required amount into the slot on the hopper (situated just under the mech), shut the door, reset, and the required amount to pay out, will come out once the machine boots up. Hope that helps.

On my machines, the other connector is situated inside the box where the hopper sits. That silver knob in your picture, have you tried pulling it? If you pull it, it should relase the hopper, then pull it out to the left. The other end should be in there. If it is, connect the two leads together, push the box back in, and push the knob back into place.

Not wanting to sound aggressive - but I struggle to understand the logic... why did you ask here, when you've presumably only just bought the machine? Why not ask the person / business you bought it from?
Hopefully you've bought one with a serviceable coin mech and hopper, I've seen too many of these 'free play' machines which have been sold with faulty components, because the buyer has no right to complain - it was sold as free play, therefore the seller hasn't lied in the listing. Yours may well be fine, but it still seems odd that you'd ask on here before contacting the seller :S

It was bought from down the road. He was never told how to reconnect it as he didnt know how. All parts seem to be there and the cable i talk about comes from the hopper motor. I want to learn about these machines and would like it to work. I cannot find another cable to connect it to, and dont want to randomly connect to the board and burn it out.
I thought this forum was to inform and teach people about these machines.

right, as i recall the cable you speak of is usually connected say middle of the line between the mother boards cable and the payouts cable, i guess it was designed that way so should you wantto remove it you could memrely split the cable in two. its highly possibly the other end othe lead on the MB is not present.

That connection seems to have 11pin socket and the hopper motor connection has 10pins. The white connector has lugs in the top corner making sure it cant be fitted wrongly.
Thanks guys for the help tracking down this problem.

Strictly speaking, this is an emulation forum (hence Fruit-Emu, Emu standing for emulation).
There's nothing wrong with asking for help with machines like this, but if I bought something of this size / value, and couldn't get it to work, I'd ask the person I bought it from.
- doesn't make a lot of sense to me. If I bought a machine, and wanted to play with real money, first thing I would do is contact the seller and ask them, or find out for myself. He was never told how to reconnect it as he didnt know how.
It's also hard for people on here to advise when we have no idea if you even have the correct hopper in the machine. Obviously if you buy a machine, with a working hopper, and the hopper stops working, we can be sure you've got the correct parts in the machine, and can advise on how to renovate / repair or replace them.
The problem is that the machine could have any number of issues causing a hopper not to work - could be a faulty PSU (or blown fuse), faulty mainboard, faulty hopper, or just the hopper not being connected.

Thanks for the info.
Just wanted to know where that cable went. If it doesnt work after that it is fine. I am happy on free play anyway.
