I work in the industry and after going to work for the firm i currently work for which deals primarily with small cafe's etc I strongly believe that gaming should be confined to designated places of gaming and children should be exposed to it as little as possible, Who agrees?

Fruities have been in so many places for so long it's part of the 'culture' !!
I remember as a teen, seeing them in cinemas, chippies, a couple of
burger bars, even a news-agent once.
What next? Take them away from the seaside because of all the kids
that go to the beach? <Remembers childhood memories of Littlehampton
and trying to sneak into the arcades to get away from parents>

Ooooh.....this'll cause arguments, which IMHO is a good thing
Right...As long as machines are of a stake/prize varying between 2p [rare, lowest is normally 5p] and 30p, £3 [again, rare] and £25 JP, I think that they should NOT be allowed into anywhere except a licensed premises - i.e Arcade, or Pub.
I think that machines should be dropped in stake and prize to £6/20pmax for a pub, minimum 80%payout, and for Cafes, £2JP/2p > 5p play, again 80% payout.
If that were to happen, I would be happier, obviously I wish the bastards had never been invented

I think it depends on the place, for example, sea side towns rely on fruities for income, so to have ONE fruity of some sort in a cafe isn't bad.
Most arcades have a cafe attached to them, does that count?
I remember being on holiday last year in Westward Ho! (north devon for those who don't know)
After a good stint in the arcade
we stopped in the little cafe for a drink, they had a RED WHITE and BLUE (great machine) that only had a £3 jackpot. (5p play)
I put a pound in while waiting for my Coffee, got the win streak and walked away with £26
I think they should stay in cafes lol

I vote yes. I think they should stay if cafes. Although only if they are near the seaside. Fits with the environment. We don`t want to encourage gambling its bad.

i think that gaming should be banned in cafe's, it would be hard to distinguish between a seaside town and probably towns popular as tourist resorts but not by the sea would complain.
If it wasn't banned in cafes then i think the jackpot should be lower or tokens should be re-introduced,everything should be done to discourage under 18's from gambling in my opinion

But surely at the seaside there are enough machines run by large outfits - who needs them in cafes where they are bought on eBay and are either :
a) Hacked ROMs running an illegaly low percentage, or

I think that machines should ONLY be allowed in places where they will be looked after [ever played a King Kebab with 10 bulbs working?!], and can be monitored.

Emptied daily - the way which makes them play like shit [involves playing using the cashbox as stake, forcing out a huge win, refloating and closing the machine].

I think you are stereotyping cafes etc there. Most cafes i have learned from experience would prefer that all bulbs are working and are perfect compared to pubs who have more of a lax attitude. Many cafe's depend on their awp for income, Howver this does not prejudice me in my belief that cafes should be banned from having awp's
