Hey guys, I thought I would tell you of my new purchase, I just found an excellent condition Cashanova machine, by Mazooma. I don't know an awful lot about real machines, but it's quite fun to play! any extra information you guys could give me or tips on running/maintenance would be a big bonus.... the thing I worry about is lamps... it only has one out, which is OK, and I believe it takes 5MM lamps. How long should a lamp last? (I know it's a stupid question, as bulbs can go anytime they feel like it) but generally speaking an average lamp life?

A member for SEVEN years with TWO posts?

You now ask for advice.

Ady wonders where the 100 (simple to do) 'thank-you' posts for the creators of downloaded Emu's went? hmmmm

Its an eclipse machine I think (same as any Deal or no deal). Best advise, don't mess with anything you are unsure of, such as wired, plugs, mechs, etc. Don't worry about the lamps, they can last in variable times, some last forever and some last days....! they are easy to change and cheap to buy. If you want to re-lamp the unlit part, swap the bulb for a bulb that is covered by other bulbs that are hardly noticable, such as the name of machine or the Jackpot decal area, as they usually have more than 2 bulbs under them.

If you ever need assitance, post on here, I own 2 Eclipse machines (1 QPS & 1 Bellfruit) and know a fair lot about them. but search first, as alot of problems have already been covered before.

Enjoy your new toy!!!!

Hi, I wasn't really asking for any advice, just a few useful tips etc.... I haven't posted a lot on here it's true, but I have given helpful advice to help someone out before (something about the internet I think) In all the 7 years, I have changed operating systems which made it harder for me to play the emulators, but I still do when I can.

I do appreciate all that everyone does at Fruit-Emu, and have really enjoyed a lot of the layouts and machines people have put a lot of work into. So - I apologise for not showing my appreciation and I wish to THANK everyone for keeping this great website and it's machine's going!

Thankyou Taylor525 for your post!

Not a lot.....2 post's....yes it was about the net Dm.

Sorry buddy, we appriciate your reply here but it's a kick-in-the-teeth when you ask for help (or tips ect).

Please......anyone.........these Emus take an age to make, and we are damn sure loads of hours of enjoyment has been made when played.

I hope you can appriciate, it means a LOT for a simple 'ta' to be added.......rather than a help me out.

Respect to you, at least you replied to this.

capable of some big top features this one, £95 being the biggest seen, a jp with a couple of repeats also possible on £25.

not much to it apart from a force, few tricks on the features, but depends on version.

can do a lose first spin on the feature.

Ages. Seriously, they last a very long time. You'll get the odd one go from time to time, but I've had some of my machines for 4 years, and in that time only a few (10 or so?) lamps have blown. They are cheap and easy to replace as long as you are careful :)

I don't know the technical answer about expected lamp life... but it's really not worth worrying about :D

The worst lamps to change (as you'll find out if you decide to do yours) are ones inside the reels. Not particularly difficult, but it can be easy to damage the plastic lamp holders.

Remember as well that the that the plastic which holds all the lamps to the glass is glued to the glass (so I hold it to the glass while pulling the lamp holder out!!). Also, the plastics which hold the lamps to the glass can get brittle with age and heat. I normally find the best way is to gently wiggle / rock the actual bulb holder a little, while pulling.

What I normally do is do a lamp test on the machine (it'll be in test mode somewhere), look for the bulbs which aren't working (from both the inside and outside of the machine), and pull the lamp holders out of the plastic for those lamps. If it's very tight, you may have to pull out the adjacent lamp holders too.

Then TURN THE MACHINE OFF, remove the bulbs from the holders, and as you do each one, push it back into the plastics that hold the bulbs to the glass. Once you've done them all, turn the machine on and do another lamp test. Hopefully everything is working as it should :p

You don't have to do the lamp test but it will help you replace ALL lamps, even ones which aren't necessarily required (like all the lamps for the machine title - as said above you don't need them ALL working - but I like my machines fully lit!!).
