Hey everyone :)

First off - Just wanted to say I am a huge fan of these forums, such usefull information and I love the download section, hours of fun :D

Anyway - I am after a <£50 fruit machine for my home (PERSONAL USE ONLY). Not worried if its a normal fruit machine or one of the skill stop style (like you have in kebab houses etc)

Am I being realistic or do I have to re think my budget? Running a home with wife and 2 kids makes finances difficult at the moment :(

Cheers for the replies - Bry

I keep checking ebay but mostly seem to be either out of budget (typical ;)) or a million miles away (give or take :p)

Fired off an email to MAC Automatics this morning who is a local company working with machines etc in the hope they might have something :)

TBH for a fully working machine, you are going to need to go more £100+, as most machines are worth £30 / £40 as scrap parts.

I've actually got a number of machines up for grabs right now located almost next door to East Midlands Airport (Some are not mine, but owner wants me to sell them on), between £70 / £100, all in full working order etc.

It's entirely possible to get a fully working machine for £50, if you are looking at unpopular machines, and / or don't mind driving to pick them up.

I normally spend between £150 and £250 on machines, however that is including courier delivery, normally at about £75 (with Speedlink transport).

I'd say to pick a machine that you think you will enjoy, not just a machine that is 'cheap'. I've made that mistake before and have ended up bored to tears by them. Did you like older machines with lower jackpots? Have you ever played club machines? (I find that clubbers tend to make more sense for home use, as they have much longer 'cycles' than a normal pub machines).

I used to buy from local suppliers, but they've either stopped dealing with the public so much now, or charge 'trade' prices for their machines, which are way higher than the usual second hand price on eBay e.t.c.

Best of luck though :)

Defo Ebay!! this ALWAYS depends on your location though...

this is what I've bought in the past for the price

Vivid Connect 4 £80
BWB Psycho Cash Beast £42
Barcrest Peep Show £50
Eclipse Crazy Fruits £150 (incl del)
Bellfruit SNTA Jiggy Bank £150 (incl del)
Barcrest It's Amazing £140 (inlc del)

a rough idea there... very hard to get one below £50 but you should get one below £100 easy... depends what you want.

I've also got 2 machines for free that people didnt want.. ;) if you're going to pay +£100, make sure its a machine you like, want and are going to keep for a while!!

I've given machines away in the past, and especially now eBay are becoming increasingly awkward when it comes to selling machines, it's an option I'll consider again :)

Can't believe how much machines are going up in value at the moment - couple of years back (when DOND came out) people were practically giving machines away - I bought several for £50 a piece easily, including delivery from a local supplier! :o

There's always local ads and newsagents... There's always people saying on Ebay- Advertised elsewhere... blah blah blah...

worth a try that way, just means you got to look around

I'd have loved that, if only you were nearer and could deliver - by the time I'd added a courier (£75) it wouldn't have been worth it. I really need to learn to drive :)

Hi there.. You are being very realistic in wanting a fruit machine under £50.
You need to be very patient though, and keep an eye out on ebay.
I have bought about 12 machines over the last year.. Each costing between £10 and £170.
First one a bought was a Red Gaming Vortex £35 jackpot for £10, Ive had Deal or no deal (which cost the most at £170) and machines like Juggling Jackpot Club, Hi Lo Silver, Ive had an American Candy Crane Machine, Plenty of Pachislos and Pachinkos, And i never pay more than £50 (excpet the £170 one) lol.
I have someone who i know personally with a van, so i know that if i need to pick one up locally i can, and relatively cheap as well.
Oh, I also bought a Pharaohs Gold Skill With Prizes (the crossbow one where you have to shoot a tiny string to win the cash).

Like i say perseverance is the key, keep an eye out, look local, and even if it says spares and repairs take a look at the description, because it might be a simple fix.

Hope this helps
