My next step would be to get a working main mpu for this machine.
90% of the time it is the mpu that is the problem.

Posted 20 November 2012 - 10:15 AM pic is loom for note accepter not to worry there
As for your PSU as to what taylor25 says never trust them leds look fine but out voltages could be low
when swapping over epoch mpu (Biggest board) please make sure you swap over the pic chip
And with epoch the led status stuff on each pcb can be crap also. As i`ve found out in the past.

Wiring for note acceptor is yellow, brown, black and red.
This green and orange wiring in the pic is either from A.) top door switch which you say is missing or B.) Refill Switch if it is missing..

Ok, never seen a note acceptor driven from the hopper driver pcb, seen many from the Epoch.
Green and orange wiring must still be wiring on the switch loom though??.

Green and orange are spare
Ok so the machine trys to power up alarms or alarms with a ticking noise comming from the speaker also Nothing displayed on the alpha.
Myself and a few other members have said the epoch mpu
Try removing the the speaker loom off the machine which top left on the epoch the mpu and let the machine time out for a minute then power it up with no speaker loom.
ok the other thing is there is only 3 leds lit on the mpu and not 4 so. Turn machine off remove molex power plug which is the right hand side check for any signs of burnt or oxidized from arcing. try cleaning (Please DO NOT use water).
Also where did you get the machine from or a friend got it from .As i`m going to stay this and this is a shock to you. Its my EX companys machine the pic of the mpu is my labels and hand writing on them chips also the the note accepter run down shoot is my handy work using a toung to hold it in place. The machine is about 11/12 years old
Herondata , Westsex coin , UDC , ATA or Kossway automatics to where is was bought from

epoch boards are on ebay most days of the week but as i discovered you buy one and it still might not fix your problem as fevernova is saying it all depends on how much you want it working and willing to spend because you could end up replacing everything in the cabinet as im also discovering
