Hi I was recently given a fruit machine global games one called the blackjack club. It was given to me because it doesn't work and I'd like to fix it but haven't a clue what to do. The person mentioned something about the epoch board needs replacing but that's all gobblygoop to me. Am I able to get a manual for it? And how do I figure out what needs replacing and what's faulty. Thank you so much for reading and I really hope you can help was hoping to get it running for Christmas for my daughter.

Many members on here can testify to the thousands of pounds they have wasted gambling on fruit machines.
Playing them starts of as fun, usually because you are young and don’t have much cash to lose anyway. However it can soon become obsessive, then just like all other addictions it becomes extremely difficult to free oneself from its grip.
Although your intentions may be innocent, I think you should reconsider giving this to your daughter as it could lead to misery in the long run. It is not just men who are machine addicts, just walk into any high street bookie or local bingo hall, and women are throwing away all their cash for the little thrill of hitting the JACKPOT, which, if they do, they will just put back into another machine.
Don’t court trouble, and don’t waste money repairing the machine. Sell it as it is, and put the cash towards buying your daughter something that comes with no risks attached.

What does the machine do when you plug it in and turn it on?
Does it alarm and give any numbers on the front display?
The machine is running on Epoch Tech, the mainboard should be sat just behind to the left of the reels. The problem with this tech is the battery leaks alkali onto the board and destroys the tracks and components on it. (Battery is the small cylindrical green component near the two 8 way dip switch banks on the board.
If the mainboard needs replacing you are looking at approx £35-£50 for a replacement from somewhere like Ebay (Always make sure spares are GUARANTEED wroking)

I can understand where you coming from about the gambling but it will e kept at my house and is mainly for my fun but my daughter whom is unable to understand the machine just likes to see the bright lights on. Plus we are having family over at Christmas and I thought be nice thing to play when over. I have found out that global games has integrated into scientific games so its not a jpm game. So I have emailed scientific games so fingers crossed for a manual as cant find one anywhere and I know I'll be fine if I had one. I. Have just ordered a power lead for it so hopefully it will arrive today and I've also ordered the epoch board so will replace that but not sure how the wires should be connected. My biggest worry s that the wires aren't connected in the machine and I don't know without a wiring diagram, would it help to photo the inside of the machine or something!

The connectors are quite simple, as they will only fit into their dedicated slots on the mpu.
Why were they all disconnected?
Scientific games are now / Barcrest..... Doubt they will help you, firstly as Maygay / Global etc etc were bought out a long while ago and they are now obsolete also, they only help people with a licence from the gambling comission (not the public in general)...
Where did you get the Epoch board from ... Only ask as i hope they give a guarantee that it was working....

How do I upload a photo? I'm not sure if things are disconnected but the wires with what looks like white connectors on end aren't connected to things. I got it from eBay and wasn't guaranteed it works 
. I got main lead today and when plugged it in it made a quite buzzing noise and no lighs or anything came on. And when I unplugged it it made a loud noise and the ???? Showed up for split second.

epoch boards go on ebay from time to time, just search it. you are however best to get it checked by someone first as it could be one of many different things.

I've ordered the epoch board so fingers crossed will come today. But I haven't a clue how to change them over or anything. And can't get a manual not even or to download :(/>.

if your unsure, take a mental image of which plugs go to where or even better still take a pic with a camera or phone before disconnecting, its a doddle to do really

Yeah take a picture of the board and re connect
make sure the machine is OFF and UNPLUGGED before doing anything. Once reconnected, switch on and tell us what happens. There's a few people that can help on here with Epoch. they are complicated techs!!!

Pics below show the boards when the machine is plugged in. ( there are no lights or any life on the front of the machine when turned on just a weird noise) pic one there 6 lights top 2 are off next 3 on last one off. Second pic the light on the board is on. Third pic which is the one I've ordered I believe the light is off.

The third pic is the reel driver board (Only ever seen one of these faulty, gave a funny spin on reel 3). Second pic is the stake/prize board.
If you need to replace the mpu, you need the board in the first pic. A guaranteed working one is quite expensive.
The orange and green wires are for the top door switch, which i guess is missing. (Just don't let them touch anything metallic or each other for now.)

Thanks, do any of the boards look faulty? With the lights not being on on one of them n that? I don't understand why none of the front lights or anything comes on. Yer the top door switch thing is missing at mo x

lol, cannot tell if boards are faulty from pics. I know there is no light on as you say but all of these smaller boards are interlinked from the main mpu by all those grey ribbon cables..
Can you have a look at the psu (bottom door bottom left corner of machine) and / or put a piccie up or tell me what lights (green led's) are lit up please.
Have a look at the main board 1st pic. There is a small green battery near the 2 banks of blue switches. See if there is any visible damage around it. Tracks will look a different colour, component legs will look green or furry. (probably best done in good light)
work now, will be back later or tomorrow sometime.

I've also taken the big board of that had 3 out of the six lights on and the battery wasn't soldered on properly so my partner has put that on and it doesn't have any sign of furring or leakage but the green case has 3 holes in. So is that good or bad? :(/> I haven't a clue where to go from here x

Fevernova will help you out better, but having some knowledge, I can tell you that your PSU (first picture) is fine, but you say that the LED isnt lit on one of your boards?? All the boards should pulse (flash) and the MPU should have 5 lights lit one of them pulsing. If the MPU (with the battery on) isn't fully lit, could you tell us which LEDs don't light please??

The big board you have taken out is the main MPU.
The battery would have been soldered on correctly at one point in it's life. It is probably not soldered on now as the battery has leaked and the alkali has eaten the copper pads away that it was soldered to or made the battery legs drop off. If the green case is damaged, then i would say the battery has leaked. Replace the MPU for a guaranteed working one, that would be my next step.
Like i say they are not cheap if you can get one. They range from £35 to £45 on Ebay, but make sure they give you a guarantee.
Said earlier, it is very rare to have a reel board go down. All led's that should be lit on your psu are lit (this only changes if the psu board is a mk2 which it isn't)
What does the lamp board look like? This is the one mounted in the centre of the machine as you look at it with the top door up, the one with lots of connectors and wires going to it.
Does it have a single green led flashing in the centre of the board (i mean a green domed led same as on the other boards, not a small flat square one)?

I thought I'd ordered the main mpu board but turns out i ordered a fell board . Will have look for the main board. On the main board there is a pic further up post there are 6 lights vertically and the ones that are lite are 3,4,5 lights. None of the lights are flashing the only ones lit are 3,4,5 on main board and one on a small board which I will upload pic of as not sure which is lamp so have taken pic of tHe two that are in that area. None of the boards have a light in the centre of the board. The first pic hasn't got any lights on at all the scone pic has one to the left of the board.

The first pic, is the lamp / led driver board (It is a mk2 board, so nothing much to worry about with it unless it is blown too, Mk1's suffered from burning around the power connector)
This board doesn't have the green led on either, which to me is still leading to the main board.
Second is just your stake / prize board with the coin mach connected to it. Again, never seen a faulty one of these yet....
The bank of switches is probably to do with the setting of the jackpot value (probably has these as it is a club machine and does not work in the way a normal machine does with the settings on the stake / prize board.) Not 100% with club machines but the technology and boards are the same with one or two tweaks.
You have to decide on how much you may have paid for the machine in the first place, how much you want it running and how much you are willing to spend getting it running.
People buy none runners (not saying you did) and do not realise, especially with epoch,how difficult they can be and how much it could cost them to get it running.
