While enjoying a few beers at the weekend the conversation got around to the new club fruit machine that my club has recently got..."Snake Rattle N Roll" and I was asked if it had been emulated. I said it was very unlikely, but would check.
From my browsing it appears to be a Scorpion 5, which I believe cannot be emulated.(correct me if I'm wrong). However, what my browsing also revealed was that it could be run using MAME.
I thought ok I'll give that a go and download MAME........ BIG BIG MISTAKE.
I have never been so confused in my life. It took me half an hour just to read the config file and I didn't take any of it in.
Surely someone on here can answer this simple question "Can MAME run Scorpion 5 fruit machine roms or have I been misinformed?"

There was a video or the original DOND running in apparently open door mode posted on the Mecca, although that thread went quiet,, There has been more info over at Dads site,
and Haze, part of the mamedev sometimes mentions FME in his blog - http://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/

As for actual emulation to us, I do not think it is possible at the mo, and mame is moving very slow as there isnt alot of interest within the mame comunity.

Edit - I think the original DOND was Scorpion 4, not 5 with extra security that MFME cannot handle.
