Not a bad result but was hoping for more!

Every year I bet on the X-Factor, normally elimination bettings, but occasionally the winners, always picking the longest odds. Last year I had 'Rhythmix' to win @ 85/1 but only £2 stake as a punt, and this year I've just had this. Not a brilliant return given the stake, but can't grumble. I typically only put a tenner on, and spread over 5 acts (£2 a piece), but decided tonight that since there were 4 acts, I may as well go the whole hog and bung £20 on it.

Now - why would I vote for Ella to go out, given she's my most local (but not exactly local) act? Well, firstly, I assumed she'd struggle with the 'kiddy' vote. She's not got a large enough local backing - if she was from London I honestly believe she could have gone all the way. I also doubted Rylan and Chris would go out due to Chris probably having the majority of the Scouse / North West vote, and Rylan having the Essex / South East vote.

That's my betting over for another year, I've not bet on a winner this year as I couldn't be arsed. Might have a punt on the national, and perhaps Britains Got Talent, but these are the only events I bet on.

I can be honest and say mate that I have never watched it, wouldn't want to watch it... and couldn't bear to watch it. I have seen it however, when I have visited other family members homes on the odd occasion I forgot they watched it! ;)

To be honest I would rather do a Sarah Miles, and drink my own piss! :p

I don't watch it, last night I made a point of watching 6 episodes of Big Bang Theory in my bedroom upstairs while it was on in the living room, and dad and I went out tonight while mum stayed at home and watched it live :D

I'd like to add though that I do genuinely feel pretty sorry for Ella. For example, where I bet on this (Betfair - always has the best elimination odds on the exchanges IMHO) from day 1 they've had a market of 'Winner Without Ella' - they were basically convinced she had it in the bag from the get-go.

Having said that - as is often the case, the winners don't do as well as some of the acts who get knocked out - for example One Direction didn't win, JLS didn't win, Olly Murs didn't win - so actually, not being tied to Simon Cowell is probably a blessing in disguise - although she'll be devastated. Just hope she bounces back from it.

who needs the fix factor to get a record contract, fair enough it was a start to stardom but i'm sure some record producers will take an interest.

its only a matter of time now.

Nice touch there Ben, asked me if that was a sound bet last week i'd have said you wasted your cash (re Ella).

Arsenal winning 5-2 (duplate of last score) was 100/1.....sometimes it's worth just going outside the field.

I've a bet, 1/345392 that i'll marry Gwen Stefani (joke).......good looking bloke am I lol
