Hi everyone, I need some help .
I've just bought what seems like an early JPM Rollercoaster fruity. It's a £5 jackpot model with round buttons.
It was working ok for about 10 min and now refuses to "boot up" when plugged in.
I was playing it and went to collect a win but obviously there wasn't enough money in the hopper to pay out."contact engineer"
I filled the hoppers with a few pound and ten pence coins and it paid out and carried on ok.
It then seemed to suddenly go into "start up mode"(?) but before it finished this everything went blank (as though something had blown)
When plugged in you can hear a noise which seems like its receiving power and the red leds next to the reels are lit but thats it, nothing else happens.
Forgive my ignorance but any help would be much appreciated. Rollercoaster is my favourite machine and I was so looking forward to playing it I'm absolutely gutted.

Hi ya preston welcome to fruit emu

I will try and not get to technical to help you out

Simple step would be to try a ram clear turn the machine off hold the red button (test button) on the impact pcb you mite have to remove the metal case to gain easyer access.
Ok now hold this button while turning it on. You will hear the machine try and boot keep holding for about 20seconds ok release the test button. Impact should boot .Try this first

Hi Impact,
thanks for the reply and welcome.
I've just tried this and nothing happened (just my luck)
I notice that the red leds are also lit on the box which seems to hold the fuses and where the power cord goes, also there was an alarm on the bottom door (basic push type) and this was going off intermittently when I fist got it home but the striker is broken and pushed right in.
I only mention the above in case you may think this may be right or wrong.
Any guidence on the next step I should take (apart from building a large bonfire)
Thanks again, thing is the bloody thing looks so complicated inside , I'm just bewildered of where to start.
cheers

Hi to all,

Thanks to Impact and his knowledge he managed to get my machine working but I have another problem.

Playing last night it froze on "Nemesis"  while in play.

To be honest although I've only just purchased the machine it's always been slightly slow and making popping noises either on start up or whilst playing but I put this down to it being an old machine and maybe tired circuits?

Anyway I turned the machine off when it froze but now it won't re boot it makes a noise on power up and the reel and fuse led's are lit but thats it, oh apart from a very faint glow on the digital display. It also makes a whistling noise when disconnected from the power. The red led on the main board isn't lit, but was when working.

It's a red cabinet JPM Rollercoaster £5 Jack..

Looking at the numerous forums it could be any number of things, battery leakage, psu etc etc and as a complete novice I need very basic advice if poss.

Alternatively if anyone with knowledge is in Essex I'm more than happy to pay for someone to look at the fruity and repair.

Thanks to everyone, great site
