Hopper Thinks It's Full

Best Answer CrAzYbAr, 02 December 2012 - 10:23 PM

Right...let me try and remember off the top of my head where everything is on one of them cabinets. I've dumped hoppers on the Italian Job 3 cabinet which is a liiiiiiiiiittle bit different...

I think it should be...

Take off bottom door
Turn machine on
Insert and turn your refill key
The hopper dump button should be in the bottom right of the machine next to the cashboxes(There might be another mini door here to protect them that needs unlocking) Then just press it.
Check it's giving the relevant option on the alpha for hopper dumping and hit start

When the hopper has finished whirring round, check all is OK on the alpha then re-turn key, turn off, shut and lock the doors and then turn it on.
Then see if inserting a £ coin goes into the hopper Go to the full post

Moved into Real Fruit Machine section for better responses: also could you please state what machine you have, and more importantly, what tech it is on, to give members here a better clue to giving you the replies you need

What I would suggest you do is dump the hopper into your payout tray, then put your pound's back in one buy one using your refill key.......works for me!!!! or am I missing the point???

I've no coins in the hopper ...it thinks it's full that's why the coins go straight to the overflow....how can I make it so the coins go in the hopper and pay out in the tray ...if that makes any sense

I havent properly worked with fruit machines since 1999 but what we used to do is clear the ram with a pair of pliers on the battery on the motherboard.
With the machine unplugged hold pliers on both sides of battery for about 4 seconds, turn machine back on the ram will be cleared.
Hopper will think its empty, refill with refill key.

Hiya buddy...Deleted your other topic of the same name and subject...Dont worry aout starting another if it gets put in the wrong place...we can move them around and save you bother :)

Now, as suggested above, conduct a hopper dump. Doesn't matter if the machine has no money in it, when the dump is complete, the machine will alter its logs and will say "SHORT BY £xxx" Meaning it's realised that it needs £xxx to become full. Easy enough for one of us to see if it's an empty hopper, we have eyes and a brain. The machine needs a little kick up the arse to realise though lol

I'm guessing what happened before you got the machine, is that it WAS full, but the fella just removed all the coins by hand, which the machine doesn't register obviously.

Is this safe ?? Will the machine still work if I tamper with the motherboard??

If you did all the above and it STILL sends coins to cashboxs, check the routing plug is fixed in the coin mech properly.

If it isn't the mech will send ALL coins to cashboxes, if it seems to be connected ok, then it might be wired up wrong or one of the wires might have come out.
