System83 is a bit of a milestone for me as it represents the first tech I have tackled without existing emulations to crib from for help. Its going well and I am certain it will see an initial release by the end of the month. Once System83 is running it means that Project Amber will then support MPU3, MPU4, Scorpion 1 & 2, M1A/B, and System 83. Sound will then be completely rewritten for all techs so that it works. I hope to have those techs running with sound by Christmas, though realistically end of January is more likely. So with that in mind its time to start assessing what's next.
What other techs have never been emulated? What other techs do we actually have reasonable resources for? What other techs would you like to see?
Don't say Scorpion 4/5, not only can VB not handle it at full speed, I also can't stand most of the modern games.

I have forgotten what tech it is called, but the one that runs Bar-X, Pyramid, Labyrinth from Electrocoin?
That would be a milestone for me.

For legal reasons I'm not touching Electrocoin with a 10 foot pole.
Epoch I believe will be handled by KillCrazy's efforts, not to mention the H3002 core is even bigger than the stuff required by Scorp4. Epoch would run in Visual Basic at the approximate speed of continental drift.
Herber is interesting to a degree, what games run on it, what resources are available?
BWB Video is tight to get running in VB, I think its "possible", but its a lot of work to write a 68k core in VB, I haven't had much luck integrating FAME, and really this should be AGEMAME's.

Castle is a possibility, owning one does help. But there are only 9 games on Castle tech and that's across 2 fairly different board revisions. Its a lot of work for 9 games (I believe we have ROMs for 7 of them).
Proconn does need redoing as there are a few errors with that tech, sound as well as hoppers, and a few more games that do not run, though I haven't really looked so they could be bad dumps rather than emu issues.
sp.ACE is another possibility and closely related to Castle too, I would like to see the PCP games emulated.
But this is about what resources are available and what people want to see.

I would love MPU2, but cannot see we have any ROMs for 'em. Perverse really as I am sure Wizard owned most of them at some stage.
bj
EDIT - anyway, you HAD an MPU2 at one time and did embark on emulating it once, remember ?

Yup that would be good. Its MPU5 so theres no changes to emulation, just security, and thats a WHOLE company we can crack on emulating and making layouts for.

Red Gaming would certainly be my second most wanted after Epoch.. Sadly unless someone has the MFME source for MPU5 it might be quite a long way off...

I'm sure I've read somewhere that it took Wizard a very long time to crack MPU5, so it must an be extremely challenging tech to emulate.

Red Gaming isn't possible in VB, too fast, same for epoch, same for scorp 5.
The one mild possibility is getting a 68k running for MPU4 Video or MPU4 Plasma games. But even that is probably stretching the limits.
@Barcrest Junky, I do remember trying to emulate MPU2, no ROMs are available, so what's the point.
At present Mach2000 is the most likely just because I own a machine with it in.
