So basically i am wondering if there is any software out there to make your laptop look like a jukebox. I have googled and downloaded a few pieces of software but they are mostly itunes or wmp with different skins. I want it to look like they do in the pub so that you can do searches for music or browsse through by genre etc. It has got to the point where i have so much music when i have house parties its hard for people to select songs.

hi there i have got a setup in my home bar, I have found the neatest and most stable software is AlbumPlayer, it allows you to search genres, years, artists ... and many many more. There is a free demo version at http://www.albumplayer.com/ ... after using it for just a day i bought it very neat, it gets all the album artwork for you etc, theres a feature on there to allow you to "AutoDJ" so instead of choosing songs one by one you can let it autodj via genre, year, mood etc.. Also there is a feature where you can use it with your iphone to skip songs etc.
check it out, sounds exactly what you are after

SAM Broadcaster is another, which can also be used for Shoutcast broadcasting too, and is what a number of UK Radio Stations use.
It's not free (I can help with COUGH cures mind )and also requires mySQL installing first (This part is free though), but you can use it like an auto DJ, and also cut in with a mic whenever you so wish.

Thanks for the info on album player i must admit i am impressed with it, I have made around 150 music cd's my biggest collection in this collection is lovers rock with 565 tracks from 198 different artists, I like how you can add your own artwork for cd covers as i have made my own so i like that, is there a limit to how many songs you can put into a folder on the software for example could i add 565 songs in one folder and play them?
I like how if you purchase album player all future versions of album player are free, if i did purchase this could i use it on my desktoip and my laptop?
Regards
Paul.
