hello all hope your well.

i have a problem with the right hand speaker on my count ya cash fruit machine mpu6. the speaker works but does not sound anywhere near as good as the left hand speaker. it sounds tinny and theres no bass and it crackles. the funny thing is, when ive been playing the machine for about 20 mins it seams to correct itself as is as good as the left hand speaker. can anybody shed some light here as to whats going on? many thanks

First thing is to swop the connections over on the speakers, so that you now have the sound from the left channel going into the right speaker and visa versa. If the right speaker is still faulty then it's the speaker itself. If the fault is now coming through the left speaker then it's a fault in the right channel audio processing.

However, from your description, being ok after 20 mins, suspicion falls on an electrolytic capacitor as being the most likely culprit.

Follow the leads from the speakers to the audio and have a visual inspection. Some show signs of stress by bulging on the top or by the sleeve wrapping shrinking.

Will agree with you there jim

With MPU6 tho being a block of metal and a bugger to see any thing worst case is the audio transister output go`s high due to wear same fault that happens on MPU5. or there is a resistance from the speaker higher then 16ohms to its normal of 4/8ohms. Frys the audio transister in the end while killing its self

.._-=It`s not a problem only a challenge =-_..
