A great machine, you should get the roms dumped. Sure this one's Mpu4. At the same time you'd find out if there was a problem with the program card.

check plug on psu and fuses the loom that runs onto the card check that for dry joints game card is sitting ok no pins bent or a common one on old genesis mk1 gray and mk2 blue the speakers ohms goes geater then 4 or 8 ohms blow its self on the program card check VR1 which as you know is the volume nob make sure thats this is not the problem
try turning this up then close the machine hold the seconded hold while turn the refill and turn the game volume down
can`t remember if they had writen this into the software

Looks like it is still a no-goer, I just get a lockup when the machine initialises, or when I try to enter testmode.

I'm loading these 2 :
ROM gb_05___.4a3
ROM gb_05___.4n3
I get the machine to got through it's initialisation sequence, then I get a 30sec timer on the 7seg displays, then a reel drops out of position and the machine locks up

I tried these roms in MFME2.0 earlier and I got the reels spinning and I was able to press some of the buttons - but there was a token alarm on some of the buttons. It was button 9 I think. I got it semi running by loading up all the roms together that were in the folder

Odd really as theres not a great deal of machines around here. Probably why people like me talk about machines, whereas people from coastal resorts would rather just ask for cheats so they can empty 1000 machines per day?

Does it mean that the program version requires a datapak fitted?
