Hi all .. i dunno if youve played this new monopoly yet (BFG) but it seems a good playable machine.. one question about it though .. when u play the board and it throws you to (?) are you meant to be able to press collect and take whatever you want before it kills you? Seems a lil odd to me that once your on the board you cant lose...

Anybody got tips on this machine?

I have played this machine briefly, and yes you cn choose to collect at the current level rather than risk the '?'. Obviously the '?' can be good or bad, but it's just like every other machine. Do you risk the gamble or cut and run? Gambling Hi/Lo on the cash ladder is a similar principle. You either gamble or collect the money. :!: Sorry but I have not played it enough yet to offer up any tips. :?

Normally i would take whatever i had on the board.. i havent played it much either but the times i took the ? it killed me .

Seems like a good machine.. i did get a jackpot from hitting 25 quid on the super feature... hope it lives up to expectations like the JPM Monopoly version did.. i liked that one.. will be playing it tomorrow :)

Just a theory but I would assume that if everyone collected every time they landed on the ? then the machine would play very flat indeed as it would have a hard time saving for any big wins.

Good point, however you should still be able to get the same amount out of it - it would just take longer. They have to keep to their percentages. Me personally, I don't think it's worth taking anything less than £3.00 on any machine, and usually the lower features are mainly crap. I would always gamble on the '?' if the cash prize was less than £3.00, and would also probably take a chance at higher values, depending on how well I thought it was playing. By the way, this is not the first machine I've played where you can collect rather than risk the '?', but the name(s) escape me at the moment.

Several machines I play do this, all of which are BFG/QPS/MAZOOMA...as an example. LOTR Two Towers [BFG], Cash Explosion [Mazooma] and, a currently emulated example :D:D, Dr Dough [QPS].

I'm pretty impressed by these, I always assumed that modern Bell Fruits were just plain nasty, saving for a big streak and blowing out most players in the process. However, these ones [if, like me, you take wins from boards ON a question mark] can continue to offer smallish [3>5quid] wins every 2quid or so.

I think theres 2 other machines based on Dr Dough which also let you collect on ? marks, one which is a parody on James Bond, think it was called something like Cashraker, and there was Fruitopia, all the same machine, same central feature but different samples.

You would get the same amount out of it (hopefully), but you would have less in your pocket as you have put in more stake money and lost 20p (on 80% payout) from every pound extra you had to put in when trying to drag the percentage payout back out.

Even the simplistic example without factoring in the 20% over the medium term:

Put in £1, get board, pays £25 - £1 in for £24 profit (profit being extra pound coins in your pocket from when you started)

Put in £10 to get 10 £2 boards and a £5 board - £10 in for £15 profit.

I don't think it's good that machines allow you to collect on a ? as it makes the profile very flat. I only play them to nick a quick couple of quid if I can, but there's no long term profit IMO. In a similar fashion I don't like the machines where the feature is simply a HiLo gamble (eg. ToT, Party Animal) since the average punter will collect rather than gamble a dodgy number and hence the machine takes longer to build up. Having said that two of my favourite machines have been 5liner and Red Arrows, so the HiLo gamblers aren't all bad!

In all honesty, it does depend on how full the machine is...played Cash Explosion [Mazooma] again tonight...£3 in, and took £4 on a ? mark...next 2 boards went to £10 b4 a question mark, and I decided not to play afterwards. I totally agree that they will play reasonably flat if you take on a ? marks....but i know a lot of people that dont realise you can!
Basically, same as usual, rely on the ignorance of others, and thats where profit lies...i only made about 15 on it 2night, but that covered all of my guiness :D

Next time i play the machine im gonna try force it ( lose continually ) to see what way it plays... like others im not exactly kean on machines that give u the option of collecting.. if you collect the pay percentage comes into effect making it flat.. if u gamble and lose its gotta pay out at some stage just like any other machine would normally.

this is not the first machine I've played where you can collect rather than risk the '?', but the name(s) escape me at the moment.

I played on 2 whilst out on a drinking night out last night

A new Cops and Robbers machine and one called Jumpin Jacks, I seem to remember the cops and robbers being BFM, but cant remember who made jumpin jacks, both made me and my friend a profit, both paid over £30, so I guess its correct that people dont realise they can collect on it, making it better for me

I must say I do like these new machines that play this way, as long as they are in a pub where no-one else knows they do ;p
