Here we have a great machine on a great jackpot with superb sounds too. Barcrest's Eliminator, i give Thanks to ploggy for letting me use his back ground image of the machine and for the other bits n bobs of his layout. The cash amounts look pixeley due to over lamping on the omni lamps in photoshop it is a bit noticable but doesn't affect gameplay. i've not masked the fruity name as didn't think i'd need to as it only flashes on IM boards, i rewritten the feature names as they were un-readable in the original state at this res, but they don't look to bad. I've finally learnt how to set reels to background at last, all in all it a good playable fruity with plenty of wins.

Ta for the layout.

Once again I don't get the logic of leaving the top of the machine visible, and some empty black space above it (neither of which are needed), but then not leaving room for the buttons (which are needed if you want to see them for hints, or if you prefer playing by clicking rather than keyboard). It simply doesn't make sense to me and I feel it's a poor design choice.

I'm assuming your answer will be 'you can move the Windows task bar to the side, or set it to auto-hide'... but why, when there's such an glaringly obviously solution in the removal of the useless parts at the top of the layout?!

As for the layout itself, I find the background artwork too dark, but I assume that's because you made it on a laptop with the screen at full brightness, and perhaps other laptop users won't find that to be an issue.

I've not given it a long play (because I normally stick to 1080/1200p layouts on this display so dropped my screen res to 1366x768 to make this playable) but aside from the bits I've pointed out, it seems fine - nice reels, presumably pulled from the Ploggy layout so they would be, lamping seems fine also.

nice 1 vecs thx for this .. keep up the good work mate seeing as you seem to be the only 1 releasing fruits  at the minute

To be fair, Ross has released some good quality layouts recently: Pharaohs Gold, Stag Night, Barmy Army, Pie Factory 2, The Big Cheese and his up and coming WIP Wall Street so some good updated re-released layouts and also some new games to play. I'm sure everyone appreciates Vectra's efforts but for the most part they've been re-dxed layouts but at a lower screen res and at present at a lower quality than what we've come to expect which is no problem whilst he learns & hones his new skills they look to be getting better but will take several more months before he gets to a really good standard.. We've been spoiled by the likes of Tommy C, Ploggy, Ross & Pook who have set highest standards so is good.. and had I come across their layouts when they was just starting out I would have passed up on them too.. :)

I grabbed Wall Street from the Mecca a couple of days back? I think it's just not been released here yet :)

Thanks for the heads up, I retract my earlier statement where I included Ross in amongst the top layout creators. Am I the only one that's bothered that he's redefined the definition of a 1280 DX layout ? In to many of his most recent layouts they never quiet meet the full height of my screen (1280x1024) and they just keep getting worse. Is his current desktop toolbar/tasktray 2 inches high or something ?

He f*****g up the standards!!!, It worth a play or two but I'm not archiving that

Tbh when i do a 1280 wdx i only do the width at 1280 and have an height of 950 pixels which is some 90 pixels short of a 1280x1024.

My taskbar is 1cm in height as I've used the 'small icons' in the taskbar and start menu properties tab for Windows 7 but your Wall Street layout is an entire 1 Inch short.. so just over 2cm's similar to Barmy Army, Stag Night and Pharaoh's Gold which I extended those layouts in height by stretching part of the cabinets top & bottom pixels which turned out just fine.. so I kept them but each layout seems to be getting harder to correct. Can't do nothing with that wall street layout plus majority of other layouts I've downloaded I've never experienced a height problem.. odd 1 or 2 may be a couple millimeters short from reaching the taskbar but was easily put right by extending the bottom cabinet.

The taskbar in Windows 7 must be slightly smaller when using small icons as a couple layouts are a few millimeters short but nothing like half an inch to an inch short I appreciate your layouts but is frustrating to find they're needlessly like that and that it's not even been noted or mentioned in release threads which left me at first thinking it's just me.

Thank you for the supportive comments guys as I've said before this layout ain't perfect none of mine are.
But (Brownbag) to slate the excellent creators we have past and present about the SIZE is just a p take I mean if its to big or to small for your tastes then don't download it simples. I'm personally grateful for any dx, any size if I can't see it all like the original of this being a 1600 or tommys hula moolah for example I just move the lower half to the right or as I'm a newbie dx'er I can now remake the layout to my lower resolution with the original creators consent if possible even if I can never match the excellent standards of the original.
Back to mine as bencrest stated about my size my toolbar is set on the right of my screen so it gives me an extra inch to play with (no rude thoughts please). And there's only about a cm on the top that not machine related. I make my layouts 750high maybe if they were approx 25 less that would give an extra inch for buttons at the bottom. As for sideart I'm trying to match a picture which sort of relates to the machine so this being a space eliminator one I thought of a planet blowing up as in elimination.

I've got a thing for posting comparison shots :)

Couple of things -

1) It's quite a nice background art on this machine. By making it so dark, you've kinda killed the nice artwork. Darkness is often used to hide errors on the background art - especially on machines for which there isn't good art available - but you had a good base layout here. While your darkness does 'work', I do feel it's a bit of a disservice when the base art was so good.

2) I still maintain that there is absolutely no need to have a gap at the top of a 1024x768 layout. On larger resolutions you can get away with it, but with 1024x768, on a hi-tech AWP you are pushing your luck a bit, even '1cm' of wasted space can be the difference between text being easy to read, and having to strain.

It's not a piss take, I'm simply questioning why ? why or how a layout creator can spend all that time & effort and the finished layout doesn't seem to reach a full 1280 screen not one but on multiple layouts that's all. What is wrong or offensive about that ? In all the release threads it explicitly states the res is 1280 WDX/DX then when I come to load BAM surprise surprise and I have asked once or twice before whether directly or indirectly I received no response

what's most frustrating.. The layouts are unlikely to be re-dxed/updated in the future due to the layouts graphics being high.. like it's cataloged as being the final layout release as being complete
