As some of you may know I have been offering this service for a couple of years now. Inspired by the similar offer I was part of for MAME. Right here are some current figures and some guidlines on how to get your sets.

Zipped Sets
--------------

BFM - 230 mb
Jpemu - 785 mb
MFME - 2.73 g
All roms* - 1.65 g
Snapshots - 110 mb

TOTAL - 5.505 gig

Unzipped - Ready To Play Sets (Roms included inside 'play' folders.)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BFM - 230 mb
Jpemu - 1.04 g
MFME - 3.30 g
Snapshots - 110 mb

TOTAL - 4.680 gig

(UPDATED Figures 10th April 2005)

These figures are constantly changing and being updated. It takes a great deal of effort to rename and maintain these sets. Be sympathetic if one or two errors occur. It is quite simple to edit gam files etc to get layouts to work. Please clearly state the 'data' you require from the above. CDs are permitted in certain circumstances but will take longer and DVDs take priority.

* - not including Empire Roms. (Dunno why is this silly ritual still being upheld?)

No Emulators will be included under any circumstances. The list above is all I offer.

Right some guidelines. You send me the required number of DVDs - usually two in a jiffy bag. Please include another jiffy bag or a label with the return address so I can return them. Also include enough postage to cover return postage. A note with your email address and 'order stipulation' would be handy as if I get loads of 'anon' ones I will not be able to remember who wants what. - I do not want to trawl through PMs to link orders to nicks/real names. It is very easy to make mistakes that way. I usually return the DVDs the same day as I receive them. Turn around can be as small as 3 days. Once received a PM letting me know whould be nice so I can help trace any problems. I have done over 350 of these sets and never lost a single set.

No instructions on how to use these files will be included, ordering these sets suggests you understand the basic running of the emulators and files. I do not have time to offer tech advice, sorry.

I am and have offered this service for FREE please do not use this service to gain materials to sell for profit. Thanks.

PM me for details on how to gain my details for ordering.

Trouty.

Do you know who still does that kind of thing for MAME?

My roms have never been updated/added to since all the sites had to go ROMless a while back.

Thanks Trouty for your efforts on helping new members (and old) acquire these at no profit, and helping reduce bandwidth in the process.

Thread is now sticky and new members are encouraged to use this service.

Can I just underline these two points. I am not trying to be a tit here but I can only offer FME data and do not really have time to offer tech support. If you have any tech problems I am sure these forums will contain your answers. Sorry for having to point this out again.

Many thanks for the DVD, Trouty, which arrived today! I'd just like to reiterate that this is a great service you offer, and it's much appreciated!!

One question: why do the zipped files contain more data? Is the ready to play set not complete then?

Regarding MAME romburners, the site to visit is Lazarus. A great bunch of folks!

The 'ready to play set' has only the roms you need to play the layouts included. The zipped set includes all the roms publically available which includes hundreds of useless unemued roms.
