I bought a coronation street club fruit machine and all was well then i put a 50p in a 20p and a 10p in and played the games off.I then opened the back and pressed the test mode button so i could empty some £1 coins so i could have a play. Now on the main screen where it shows the bank & credits....the credits part aint there only the bank amount at 000.It will still take £1 coins but wont register them and they drop straight to the tube without any plays registering. When i put in 50p or 20p or 10p they just drop straight through to the pay out try.Has anybody got any ideas what the problem is and how to sort it.
Also when it has been off a while and i switch it ojn i get a ram clear 42 message and i get a mega loud alarm like buzz (it does it 6 times then stops) then the reels spin and its ready to play.
i would appreciate it if anybody could help me with the 2 problems
Thanks
Jazz

hello
the first problem....
when you say you are putting the £1.00 coins in and they are not registering,is this while you are in test mode or with all the doors closed???
second problem...
the battery on the mpu will be flat or dead.
when this happens the ram clear will always sound when you power up.
machine will play as normal but the % setting will reset once you switch it off again.
let me know what type of mpu is in the machine.
regards
baz

Perhaps the doorswitch is gone? Always possible if it was the first time the door had been opened in ages?

Thanks for the replies.
Ok.The door is closed i was opening it once a day to do test mode so i could empty some coins to have a play. Then last time i did it and closed the door i had a bank value of 000 in the centre of the lcd screen but the plays digits don't show and when i put in a pound coin it drops through as normal but no plays register.
I think you may be right with the battery because it does reset the cashpots everytime it has been off and i switch it back on the next day.How much do the batteries cost and where do i get them and where are they placed in the machine?.
Would the battery problem cause the plays not showing or do i have 2 seperate problems?
sorry about all the questions but i am clueless as this is the first fruit machine i have owned.
Thanks a lot for the help so far.

I'd say it'll be M1a or M1b. Probably M1a, but I can't say for sure as I have no experience of Maygay machines!
If it says M1a on the mainboard [or anything looking similarly like M1a], then it's safe to assume it is M1a.
I think that almost all fruit machine batteries are the same, although I don't have one to hand, I seem to remember they are Varta Nicads, they have a blue plastic band around them. Hopefully that'll help you find it, when you do it should have all the necessary details written on it
