Hoppers are not supported in any current public release of MFME.

i keep seeing alot of posts mentioning "public released emulators" and "privately released emulators", are any of the private ones ever gonna be made public??, and whats the point of mentioning an emulator that might not ever be made public?, are we supposed to get jealous or something or shed out a load of dosh just to get something that might not be freely available for at least another 5+ years?? ........just asking

What happened was mfme 9.4 was leaked & wizard who made mfme was not happy & has vowed never to release another emulator to the public again.

Wizard & chums will have a more up to date emulator for their own use, but it probably wont see the light of day as a public release. :(

There was also a fallout with mame for using some of their code without any acknowledgement.

See now this may sound extremely controversial... But if wizard doesn't want to release any further updates and basically has stepped away from 9.4 (supposedly) to pursue other stuff, them surely we could just tweak what we have already.. Surely there must be a way of adding in stuff to what we have.?!? I take it the original author (wizard) wouldn't care because he has pretty much turned his back on the fme "public" scene.. It would seem.

Not trying to make any issues, just trying to post factually correct information. If I am asked whether something is emulated and I know that to be the case in an emulator that I and everyone else, except 4 people are unable to use, should I say yes, or no? Let me know if you want me to lie in future, and I'll aim to oblige.

Yes, there is MAME which is open source and Amber, and a supposedly invitation only version of ÉPÉE around too, which would be an EPOCH emulator, or at least that was its original purpose. Amber was written by Guitar, but he has stated that he won't put Scorp 4 in until this is a dead tech, nor MPU5. They wold both need cctalk too, which is current and would cause a shit storm if emulated. Killcrazy is also developing an EPOCH emulator for public consumption and that looks to be going well. So, MAME is our best bet at emulation of anything post about 2004. MAME is quite slow burning though.

Wizard is way beyond 9.4. We have the source code for it and you or anyone else with a Borland C compiler is more than welcome to give it a go, but it will require emulation of cctalk to get any further progress with scorp 4 or MPU5. Others who have tried have barely got it to compile due to the volume of include headers to be added.

I would say a leak is most unlikely. However going back to the very beginnings it is widely know that Wizzy was selling his emulator and I wouldn't be shy in making an offer if I won the lottery.

Apparently the original creator of BFeMulator is back posting again over at Fruit Forums, which is a turn up for the books as he had disappeared off the planet for yonks with a request to not be contacted. Guess they all come back in the end.

Am I the only person posting on this thread? Are people keen to hear this shite, or don't they give a damn either way? I can easily STFU if that is what peeps want.

Sorry mate.. Been away whilst updating my website.. You seem like you know your stuff.. I was just Enquiring lol.. Im glad you straightened it up :)

Just hope that something/someone turns up to help progress because even if cctalk scorp4/mpu5 becomes obsolete we wont advance until someone can advance... But im well happy to see that killcrazy is on the epoch scene.. Ive been reading his threads with great anticipation. :)
