hi people

i have a fruit machine(club temptation)

It works 100% fine and im wanting to sell it but someone said i would be better off stripping it down and selling the parts

Reels, board etc as i would get more.

was wondering if you guys would reccomend this also as i wouldnt like to break an old classic ;-)

thanks in advance

You probably can get more in parts, however your relying on selling them all.

You might only sell several bits and get stuck with the rest so its swings and roundabouts really, personally I would sell complete, least that way its all gone in one go.

Ps what area are you as I know someone that might be interested, and price?

If you happened to live near me (Spalding, Lincolnshire) I could also be interested.

Regarding splitting for parts, it can be a good option, but you need to factor in the postage for the individual items, and need to be sure things like mainboards are fully working (and ideally with a new battery, and no evidence of leakage whatsoever), hopper works without any errors, coin validator accepts a good range of coins and doesn't reject too many unnecessarily.

As was said above, you'd have the chance of parts not selling (at least not quickly), and would still need to scrap the cabinet. Keep the glass though, I do when I break machines :D

Yeh where abouts are you.. I think splitting is the best way IF you willing to wait for sales.. you might not sell it all, and it might take a while

thanks for feedback

im in south yorkshire

the reason he said split is because when i bought this machine i bought it without keys

this didnt bother me too much as i had a 7 pin tubuler lockpick so could open it.unbeknown to me that 1st lock i put it in it would break

cant repair it so as it is the machine works perfect but has a little damage to bottom door nothing too bad i can send photos if needed

as for all other doors well they need opening im not wanting a great deal fof machine anybody who could pick it up can have it for £50

for someone who knows what there doing its value for money but for anybody like me out there LEAVE IT ALONE  :jimlad:  :jimlad:

Perhaps a little too far for me but will consider it - which city / town in South Yorkshire is it and I'll see if it's worthwhile (if nobody else wants it!)

Regarding couriers - I've only used Speedlink (now bought by Hadfields http://www.hadfieldstransport.com/ ) - Speedlink used to be approx £75 so it does add a fair bit of cost.

Unfortunately, its the courier that sucks the values out of the machines

for starters I cannot buy it as I live approx 250miles away and I live in a small two bed flat so its rather impossible actually. As for resources on a plate, the plates rather empty at the moment as people have wiped it clean.

If all else fails I'm probably going to be able to collect it, just need to find my DSLR camera battery charger before I can take photos. Had a bit of a shift-change this week so have got the coming Sun > Weds off. Only issue is I'm really not sure about it fitting in my car, so would have to see and if not, take dad's car (if needs be he'd be in there with me!)

Then again, tempted to just get a courier, although it would be dependent on the seller being happy with that arrangement. I'm certainly happy to pay the £65>£75 to have it brought here, if the seller is happy to work with a courier giving them 24 hours notice of collection. Machine couriers are pretty awesome, all they need is somebody to be in, they'll bring wheels e.t.c. and pick it up and load it, they just need someone there to sign to say it has been collected.

It's a tricky one, isn't it? If I was selling a machine, and a new member, if people said to me 'take some photos but don't bother selling the machine as we don't want it!' I'd be a bit disillusioned. Fact is, someone wants to sell a machine, not help us lot out and then be left with something they can't sell.

Before I could 100% commit to a courier collection though, I'd want the seller to be 100% clear that it is fully working as described. I don't mind the odd bulb being blown, but if it was basically knackered on arrival I'd be a bit miffed :D
